Question 1

Will 12volt ip security cameras work with poe on this switch

Accepted Answer

Dear Amazon Customer,

Thank you for your interest in the NETGEAR switch GS108LP.

To work with POE your cameras have to be POE.
But, you also can connect non POE devices on the GS108LP.

Please find the switch data sheet:

Question 3

Does this let through traffic from hue and hive? i have 3 different switches and none of them let through the hive hub

Accepted Answer

Dear Amazon Customer,Thank you for your interest in the NETGEAR GS108LP.The GS108LP switch is unmanaged and should let the signal from the hive hub pass through. In this case, since you have three different switches which do not let the signal through, we might kindly suggest you checking any requirement to use a hive hub with a switch. You may want to check with the hive community, as well.If you have any further questions, you can also check out our community at any time https://community.netgear.com/t5/English/ct-p/EnglishBest regards,NETGEAR Amazon UK

Question 4

Can i plug in 7 poe cameras and the 8th cable to a router?

Accepted Answer

You will need to check the power required by each camera, and compare that total with what the network switch will support (60 W with standard power supply). If they all have low power requirement (8 W or less) it should be OK, but I doubt that it would support 7 PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) cameras.
