Fun family game for little kids
Such a cute classic game for younger kids. My kids love the bright colors and candy theme, and it’s simple enough they can actually play without getting frustrated. Great for family game night or rainy days inside.

It's a classic.
It's a classic, kids love it. One of those rare games that younger kids (unable to read) can play alongside older kids without getting frustrated. If you have kids of various ages this is for you.

Very good for a first Board Game
I rate toys using a 3 category system. I look at their entertainment value, durability, and creativity. Every toy needs to keep a child's attention, be able to stand up to their rough playing, and either promote their creativity or be used to play in creative ways. I'll start with a short review and then explain my reasons for the rating in detail. We bought this for my 3-year-old daughter for Christmas, and it has been a big hit. Her and her 2-year-old brother beg to play it everyday when I get home from work. It is fun and colorful, and helps to teach them how to be patient and take turns as well as how to have fun, even if you don't finish first. ENTERTAINMENT: Candy land is simple enough for a 2-year old to figure out, and fun enough not to make the parents who have to play with them completely miserable. It brings back memories from my childhood, so I have a lot of fun playing as well. My daughter loves counting the colors, and she loves narrating her path and telling stories about how she met Queen Frostine on her way to King Candy's castle. My son loves drawing the cards and moving his piece along the path. DURABILTY: The board is very sturdy, but the cards get pretty messed up pretty quick. My son has already crumpled up the cupcake card, so we know when that one is coming in the stack. There is a version of this game that has a spinner instead of cards, which they got from my brother for Christmas (what a coincidence), but my kids enjoy picking a card more than using the spinner. CREATIVITY: My daughter gets pretty creative telling stories about the Candy Land characters, but the best part about this game is that it teaches kids how to be patient and wait for their turn in a creative way. My kids are pretty patient for being toddlers, but they are still toddlers. When they want something, they want it, and they usually aren't willing to wait for their turn. But within a few minutes of playing, they were remarkably good at taking turns. They cheered each other on, even if the other one just passed them up. They loved every minute of it. Outside of game play, I have noticed them taking turns with toys and not fighting as much. They still fight, just not as much. They share their toys a lot better. I didn't expect that to happen. I don't think people really think that a board game would be able to teach kids life lessons, but its surprising how they carry the little things into their everyday interactions. In conclusion, this is a great way to introduce children to board games and teach them patience and good sportsmanship. Its a must have for young children.

The perfect first board game for toddlers
The Hasbro Gaming Candy Land remains the absolute gold standard for introducing young children to the world of board games. Since it uses color-coded cards rather than numbers or reading, my 3-year-old can play independently and feels so proud to navigate the "Kingdom of Sweet Adventures" on their own. The Amazon Exclusive artwork is vibrant and nostalgic, and the sturdy game pieces are perfectly sized for little hands. It’s a wonderful, fast-paced way to teach basic skills like turn-taking and following rules while keeping kids completely enchanted by the magical theme.

Love the Game, Quality Downhill
We had an older version of Candyland, but the cards were all bent up, so I ordered this one as a replacement. Right away I noticed the quality has gone downhill from my old version. The game board is barely thicker than posterboard so you'll need to be very careful with that. The cards are beyond thin - I had to laminate each one to give it longevity. The Candyland story insert was ripped upon receipt. Better quality materials need to be used since young kids are using this. Aside from quality problems, we love the classic game. My 4 and 10 year olds love the game, even though the 10 year old is way old for it, but we like to play as a family. It's the competitiveness for her that keeps her interested. Game play is simple, you choose cards and go the matching color, some spaces are double colors to move 2 instead of one. The best part is the specialty cards, in this version some of the characters are different such as the ice cream for Duke of Swirl and Grandma Gooey. What makes the game so fun is that you can be all the way at the end and get a specialty card like the cupcake that sends you back. My 4 year old is learning sight words, but can't read yet and no reading is required for this game. Each round can take 2-7 minutes depending on what cards you get, good for kids with short attention span. Classic family fun!

Gran juego

Fun board game to play with our 4 year old
Just opened it today and played with our 4 year old. He absolutely loved it and it was easy enough for him to grasp quickly. He can’t wait to play it again tomorrow so I’d consider this purchase a win.

great first board game for over 3's
This was sent from america though ordered on the english amazon site, adn took around 2 weeks to arrive. It's a great boardgame for age 3 up to around age 8, with simple rules similar to snakes and ladders ,and easy understanding of ways to move forwards and back. The candland graphics appeal to all children. Will encourage colour recognition and simple counting for very young children, and is therefore the ideal first boardgame for 3 year olds.
