Stop Valve

Fantastic product and works great! Recently got a new dishwasher and decided to replace the cheap plastic shutoff valve with this sharkbite angle stop valve. It was very easy to install. Here are the steps I followed: 1. Shut off the main water line to the house. 2. Opened a faucet in the kitchen and let all the residue water run out. 3. Placed a large tray underneath the connection to collect any water leaking out. 4. Made a clean cut on the red PEX pipe using a PEX cutter from Lowe's. Some water will leak out. 5. Pushed the SharkBite angle stop valve into the PEX pipe. You can feel it when the PEX pipe has bottomed out and fully engaged with the valve. 6. Turn the main water line back on VERY GENTLY. This way you won't leave a mess in case the valve hasn't fully engaged with the pipe.

I was changing my jacuzzi tub faucets that were original to the house. Unfortunately, my pipes are 1/2” cpvc that’s was glued to a copper fitting that went directly to the faucet. I cut the pipe and installed these shark bite fittings. They don’t require and glue and literally can be installed in a second. Once it’s on, it’s permanent and not removable without a special tool. The quality is great and solid. It’s a very good value for the money because a plumber would be using the same thing. The 1/2” faucet connection was the perfect size and the cut off is easy to switch between on and off. Definitely recommend for sure.

I didnt realize these valves spin freely when installed which was worrying at first. It doesnt look as clean as it could if the valve would stay at 90°. Theres no indication anywhere that the little plastic part is decorative. It just stuck on the pipe and the job was done. No skill required.

I'm not a professional plumber but I do a lot of things around the house for myself and minor plumbing is one of them. If you are working with CPVC or any other material with which SharkBite connectors are compatible and you and have never tried one I recommend it. I have them in several parts of the house with service time ranging from months in the case of this purchase to years for others with zero issues. Any time I have to replace an isolation valve under a sink, refrigerator water supply, toilet, isolation valve before the outside hose pipe valve, etc., this is what I use. In addition to the convenience of the SharkBite, connection the check ball valve is superior to the screw type making this a winning combination for an isolation valve. I do still like the screw type when I want to control water volume like to an outside hose. No fooling around with purple primer and cement unless you have to modify the pipe but regardless I still like using them for the valve. Make your PVC cut as even as possible, firmly press the valve in place to ensure it is fully seated, go do something fun not equal to waiting on cement to cure and the stink to leave the house, done deal.

I'f your hooking up an ice maker these sharkbite fittings are the go to product and are the most used by plumbers. The R19 (angled) and R14 (straight) versions are available so have at it and good luck.

I am amazed at this technology. This is the easiest thing to install and no leaks!

Great quality product from Sharkbite. I have used this for my bathtub faucet where hard to reach . This product makes my life so easy and save money to call plumber. Highly recommended to all who wish to use any shark bite products.

Easy to install

Idéal pour les endroits ou on a pus de place pour installer un collet traditionnel. Relativement dispendieux mais sauve des travaux plus considérables (ouvrir un mur par exemple). Très simple à installer. J’aime aussi le fait qu’on puisse le tourner une fois installé.
