For the girlies that left the salon crying
IT WORKS! Going from dark hair dye to prior bleached hair: Iโll post backstory under here but 1. If you got a lot of hair order 2-3 boxes. I have thick shoulder length hair almost ran out 2. Keep your environment warm! Keep your house like 73 degrees while doing this and after you apply put your hair in a cap and blast that hair dryer on high with heat! 3. (Disclosure Iโm not a professional just someone that wanted all the permanent hair dye out and revert to what I had before visiting salon) I left this product in my hair for about 35 min. 2. Use Clarifying shampoos to wash out. they that are meant to remove product buildup. I used to Suave Daily Clarifying Shampoo & Conditioner 3. RINSE SHAMPOO REPEAT! Follow directions shampoo and rinse for like 15 min just standing under the shower (you will be spending a lot of time washing) and then shampoo 3 more times and end with conditioner 4. Your hair will smell bad itโs like a sulfur, rotten egg smell. But the color will be gone :) So I have dark hair and spent years doing highlights overtime to get lighter. All I wanted was my hair to be a different tint instead of the orange brassy I wanted a cool red undertone to match my clip in extensions. Love my hair lady I donโt complain or cry till Iโm home and still tip my stylists (cuss thatโs just who I am) but hated the outcome my hair was basically as dark if not darker than my actual hair!!!! So I come to Amazon and find this product and it actually worked I got back to the blonde I had before!!! No bleach or anything so no damage to hair! If thatโs your goal to strip your hair color to remove permanent or semi permanent dye this is for you it will not lighten you hair you are literally just removing product 1st pic is after salon with dye in 2nd pic is after I got done using product!

Worked for me!
WOW! I have high porosity hair, and let my toner sit too long, resulting in a sad ashen mess. I figured I'd have to wait until the color started to fade, but then read about this treatment, and the reviews seem overwhelmingly positive, but not 100%. I followed the directions almost exactly, and it worked! I now have my hair back to the highlighted start. The scent is not pleasant, and definitely a slight deterrent, but to fix my mess, I was desperate. Also the EXTENDED rinsing and repeated shampooing, feels torturous. Again, I was desperate. You rinse the first time for 20 mins! Then shampoo again and rinse for 5 mins, X2 cycles. I ended up just standing in the shower, praying for the hot water to hold out, and doing squats and body weight exercises to pass the time. I am SO happy to be blonde again, even if it is a brassy shade. I did a protein treatment immediately after, and then used my regular conditioner. My hair actually feels soft, and no worse for wear. I am planning to do another deep conditioner x2 days and then use a protein filler before applying a toner (for half the time!), to finish my look. It's a lot of work, but much needed, as I have an event this weekend. My hair type is fine/curly 2C, so it tends to be more porous anyway, I just need to take more care. But I highly recommend this product, it absolutely saved me! I hope not to need to repeat again, but it's good to know, that in an emergency, I'm not totally screwed.

Do Not recommend
It does lighten your color a half-one shade but itโs very damagung and not extra conditioning as it claims to be. The smell is so bad i had to wash my hair a few times a day with clarifying shampoo and alot of deep conditioning mask and still ended up going to a professinal and bleach my hair to get rid of the red shade. I had very healthy pin straight hair and aleays air dried it but since using this product my hair becomes rock hard and very hsrd to wash snd ofcourse i have to brush it s few times a day and blow dry it after each wash ehich is very time consuming. The smell also so bad itโs been two weeks snd i still smell it in my bathroom/shower and have to keep soraying air freshener and perfume and eash it with bleach and light a candle in the bathroom all day to help with smell. Also, it claims it is blesch free but it euined my Tshirt i was wearing eventhought i eas mostly covered with a towel. It has white stains everywhere.by the time i got around using it it was past the return date do i couldnโt return it either. Very disappointed and would not recommend

it worked
I have been dyeing my hair for years and years. My natural color was auburn when I was younger but I started going gray early. Over the years, I've mostly dyed my hair some shade of auburn. I've decided I'm old enough to stop coloring my hair so I switched to strawberry blonde color to lighten up before letting my natural silver/light gray color grow in. Unfortunately, that left me with silver/light gray roots and enough lingering strawberry blond that it looked bad when my hair is wet. Since an upcoming family reunion will include pool time I didn't want that look. I decided to color my hair to closely match my natural color so it would gradually blend in. That plan went horribly wrong when a dye labeled as ash blonde left my hair gunmetal gray. So dark it was almost purplish black. I knew I couldn't go back to strawberry blonde since it was so dark and three daily shampoos with dandruff shampoo lightened it to more of a grayish brown but not enough that my light roots won't really show at the reunion. I decided to try this color remover. According to the directions, I could expect this product to remove the dark dye color but would likely leave my hair blonde even though that's not my natural color. I figured that would leave my hair light enough that my natural silver/light gray color should blend in as it grows. I applied the dark color on Monday and used this product on Saturday so the dye was new. The directions are to apply the product and put on a shower cap for 20 minutes (or maybe 25). Then shampoo your hair then rinse it for 15-20 minutes. After that you are to shampoo again then rinse it for five minutes three times. Then condition. You use your own shampoo and conditioner. My concern with doing this in the shower was that I would run out of warm water. I figured I could handle cold water on just my head so my intent was to do this in the kitchen sink but it's metal. The directions clearly say this product is not supposed to come into contact with any metal surface. I decided to do this leaning over the tub using a handheld sprayer. After ten minutes of rinsing, my knees and back hurt and I knew I couldn't continue in that position and moved into the shower. Luckily, I had enough warm water. I ended up following the directions so at the end I had shampooed four times and rinsed for a total of 35 minutes plus a few more minutes of time to condition, let it sit then rinse it out. I was left with very light blonde hair, a color I've never had. But it's light and I can see that my natural color should just blend in as it grows. I used a good shampoo (not the dandruff shampoo) and conditioner during the process. My hair was left in good condition, just a little drier than normal. I think I could color my hair again if I wanted and it wouldn't damage my hair. The product smells no worse than my hair dye did. In fact, it left no lingering odor in the bathroom. I recommend the product, but be prepared for the process. It takes a while and requires a lot of rinsing. I have short hair and one bottle was plenty for me. I'm sure for longer hair you'll need a second bottle.

It works, just not the way I was hoping...
Update: Okay, so I ended up having to do a lot of work to get my hair more like my natural color. After stripping the hair using this product I attempted to use a toner. As you can see in the photos it did lighten it. But it's still ended up looking really red later. I could have probably left it alone and got used to it but it was driving me crazy. So I went and picked up a box bleach (cuz I just didn't feel like dealing with powder since I don't have a second mirror behind me in my bathroom now) and then I used a different toner in a different shade (opted for a blue instead of purple toner). The last picture was the end result. And I think I got pretty close to my natural. Enough that my hair can grow out and blend better. Original Review: Unfortunately, I guess if you go red, it considers it a "lightener" and this stuff doesn't really work (because it says in the instructions that it won't work if you go lighter. It'll only work if you go darker when you color your hair). I will say that it DID lighten my hair, almost as if it bleached it slightly, but leaving that brassy yellow-orange. Ugh. I don't know if a toner can help but I guess I have no choice but to try. Yes, this IS drying. However, my hair was already pretty damaged since I used a boxed hair dye before that was on the cheaper side, and it did a number on my hair. So I can't blame this product for that. It actually did not dry out my hair as much as I thought it would. I didn't experience any shedding while applying\rinsing over what I normally experience - but that doesn't mean I won't have break off later. If the break off is really bad I will try to remember to update this post. If I use a toner and it helps I will try to remember to update this post. I will include all kinds of before and after pictures. Please keep in mind that the camera on my phone is awful and it's always adjusting the color\hues... However you can see there is a difference. Just not the result I was hoping for. Nonetheless, with it pulling out a lot of the actual red and just going lighter it might make it blend better as my natural grey grows out. So I don't think it was a total waste. Just not the results I was hoping for. One thing that I have going against me is that I was born a natural redhead. And so even when my hair was greying I still had copper highlights (you could really see them in natural lighting)... I think this hair color-stripper just brought those copper highlights out in their natural form LOL... which is kind of funny. I do notice that in a lot of the after pictures you can see streaks of white. So it definitely took the color out where I was naturally white already.

Mostly works
Worked to remove old red hair dye on unhealthy, graying hair texture. Will stink. Required after care/deep conditioning. Didnโt think it was working but did the 20 minute rinse and saw the results. Hair not fully back to original color /dark blonde, more strawberry blonde, brass undertone.

It does the job! After you wash hair and hair dries you can color your hair to the color desired!
So far it looks like itโs taking the redness out of my hairโฆ I tried to color it to a light golden hair before this and the red just wouldnโt get offโฆ ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ Will post more pictures after my resultsโฆ

Amazing ResultsโColor Removed Safely and Effectively!
This product worked really well for me! I was honestly surprised by how effective it was at removing the dark color without damaging my hair. I didnโt experience the strong smell that some people mention, which was a big plus. The key is to follow the instructions very carefullyโespecially the rinsing step. I rinsed for a full 15โ20 minutes and used a clarifying shampoo three times, and that made a huge difference. If you skip or rush this part, the dark color can come back. Overall, Iโm very happy with my results. My hair feels good, and the color lifted nicely. I would definitely use this product again in the future and recommend it to anyone looking to safely remove hair color at home!

Works but wow it's stinky
I didn't believe the other reviewers but it legit smells like eggy farts, and that smell lasts in your hair for a few days afterwards (depending on how frequently you wash your hair). That said, it does work and I do recommend it to help remove dye from your hair. However, it makes your hair very porous afterwards, so you're going to want to condition and do some hair treatments. My hair was a birds nest immediately after, and is now more prone to tangling, so I have to do a couple of deep conditioning treatments a week. As long as you're ready for a farty bathroom, and stick the to instructions, you'll be fine!

๐ Color Oops Hair Color Remover Review: A Red Hair Transformation! ๐
I recently tried the Color Oops Regular Strength Hair Color Remover (RS100), and I'm thrilled to share my experience with you. My hair journey involved layers upon layers of red hair dye, and I decided it was time for a change. I chose Color Oops to help me with this transformation, and it didn't disappoint. First off, the application process was surprisingly easy. The instructions were clear, and the product was straightforward to use. I appreciated that there was no need for complicated mixing or multiple steps. Now, let's talk about the smell. Hair color removers can be notorious for their strong, unpleasant odors, but Color Oops was tolerable. While it didn't smell like a bouquet of roses (let's be realistic, it's a chemical process), it was much more bearable than I expected. But what truly matters is the result, right? Color Oops worked wonders on my layered red hair. It effectively removed the built-up color, leaving my hair ready for a fresh start. The end result was satisfying and gave me the blank canvas I needed for my next hair color adventure. In conclusion, Color Oops RS100 is a reliable choice if you're looking to remove hair color, even if you've piled on the layers. The application is straightforward, the smell is manageable, and the results are impressive. Give it a try if you're ready for a hair color transformation!
