Continued Quality from SteelSeries
I have been a fan of SteelSeries headsets ever since I bought my Siberia V2's 7 years ago. The Siberia V2's still work flawlessly but the thin rubber coating on the foam ear pads started peeling away and leaving black specks stuck to my head and hair, so it was time to upgrade. I saw no reason to switch away from SteelSeries, and I'm glad I didn't as they continue to impress with quality headsets. I'm so far loving this headset, it's an improvement over the Siberia V2's in every way. And the few Cons I've been able to find are minor and not deal breakers. PRO's The first thing I noticed about the Arctis 3's was the ear pads have a fabric coating, as apposed to the thin rubber coating of the Siberia V2's. This, to me a huge upgrade, as that coating peeling away was what prompted me to make this switch in the first place. It's good to know I will not be running into that problem this time around. Another positive change over the V2's is that the Arctis 3's use a headphone jack as apposed to USB. I travel a lot and therefor game on a laptop, and that means limited USB ports. Not having to dedicate a USB port to my headset is a big positive improvement. Sound quality is the same amazing standard that I've come to expect from Steelseries. Retractable mic means you can use the headset as actual headphones for your phone or music device when not gaming and not look like a tool. CONs This is personal preference most likely, but I don't like the rubber coated cord. It makes it feel cheap and fragile to me. Would have preferred they went with a threaded cord. The cord is kind of short. This isn't a problem for me, as I game on a laptop, but I could see this easily becoming a problem on a desktop depending on where your headphone jack is located. Mic is quiet. Had to turn my settings all the way up in order for people to hear me talking, and even then most people on Discord had to turn my volume up on their end. And the Mic won't even pick up my voice unless it's fully extended and placed directly in front of my mouth. The location of the volume control and mute button are on the back of the headset. This isn't so much of a problem but you just need to be conscious of the controls if you ever rest your head back.

It a quality product
The SteelSeries Arctis 3 is a popular gaming headset known for its solid performance and affordability. It features a comfortable design with adjustable ear cups and a lightweight build, which is ideal for long gaming sessions. The headset's sound quality is generally well-regarded, offering clear audio and a balanced sound profile, though it might not have the depth of higher-end models. The noise-cancelling microphone is noted for its clarity, though it lacks some advanced features found in more expensive headsets. The Arctis 3 also includes a durable, flexible headband and comes with a straightforward control scheme. While it may not have premium features like wireless connectivity or advanced surround sound, it provides good value for its price.

Love this headset
I bought this headset after many years of using a budget headset. I'm a PC gamer and will sometimes game for hours at a time. TLDR; This headset is SUPER comfortable and stays that way for hours of gaming. The sound quality is great and I love the mic button/volume adjustment on the ear piece. Would definitely recommend. - Comfort: I've have to say this is the number one factor I had in purchasing this headset. I went to an electronics store and tried on several before purchasing on Amazon. The cushions feel soft and plushy and the headphones can fit over my ears very comfortably (even with my piercings in the top and bottom of my ears on). The ear pieces swivel to allow good placement in respect to my face and the adjustable, elastic headband makes it sit well on my head. I felt that all other headsets I tried, no matter how much padding they had on top, felt awkward or heavy on my head (which I admit, I do have a really large head). On the other hand, these feel amazingly comfortable, and stay that way whether I game for an hour or 5. The padding also seems to breathe well and doesn't make me feel all sweaty if I game for a while. - Sound Quality: Let me say that I'm not one to typically purchase expensive headsets so I can't compare it to other ones. But, did I hear a difference switching to this headset from my old one? Absolutely. I could hear sound effects in my games much more clearly, and it was more defined. It also blocked out other background noises very well. - Mic: Works well and picks up my voice clearly (even when I forget to pull out the mic). I was told the sound from my mic did improve noticeably after switching headsets. I like that this mic is retractable rather than just folding up, and that this makes it adjustable after pulling it out. - Buttons on earpiece: There is a button to turn the mic on/off as well as a volume adjustment dial on the left earphone. My last headset had these adjustments on the headset cord, and I like them being on my ear piece much better. It made them easier to reach for rather than tangling with my cord whenever I want to mute my mic. - Cord: No complaints here. Since I'm always gaming at my desk, I felt no need to go with the wireless versions of this headset. The cord is long and flexible and seems to be very durable is well.

For the price you get great sound and a nice mic.
Pros - For the price, I was impressed with the overall sound. I wouldn't use them for critical listening, but for a sub $100 pair of headphones I will not complain at all about the sound. A heads up, though, these are a little on the "tinny" side, but that can help with clarity, especially when chatting. I haven't gotten them fully broken in, either. -Very comfy. I'm spending A LOT of my time behind the computer monitor lately and I forget that I have these on more often than I need to adjust them for comfort. - The mic seems to pick up well! My friends have had no issue hearing me at all and based on what I can tell, they can understand every word I say. -Price. -Analog controls on the left earcup allow you to mute your mic and adjust the volume independent of the system volume with ease. To elaborate, the rotary volume control decreases the output into the headset, so if your computer and headset are both at max volume, you have max volume. If your computer/system is at half volume, you are limited to half volume even if the volume control is at max. Cons -Feel a little cheap. Not like I could break them by dropping them, but more in the way that if I don't baby them a little, the components will eventually fail or cut out. -Terrible isolation. Don't expect to have these block out a ton of ambient noise. -The BIGGEST flaw that I have found and the ONLY reason these don't get a 5-star rating is that the mic picks up bleed-through from the output. My friends can hear my game audio and music if it gets too loud. For example, we have been playing Conan Exiles and ARK, they can ALWAYS hear when I am mining ore or fighting an opponent. The mic needs to be slightly further extended or the earcups need more insulation. All in all I am very pleased. I've been using the Audeze Mobius ($400 planar magnetic headset) and I picked these up because I don't want to use the Mobius to the point of extinction. These allow me to have an inexpensive headset that is fairly easily replaceable AND also allows me to play some games with crystal clear audio. If the bleed-through issue is fixed, this headset will be a 5-star MUST HAVE inexpensive headset for just about any gamer.

Good for a layperson
I'm not a heavy-duty gamer or audio person, so I can't speak too much to the tech specs of these, but they're a very nice pair of headphones! I like the fabric strap - I get headaches very easily from having things on my head and the strap helps prevent that. The ear cushions are comfortable, even when I am wearing earrings. I haven't listened to a recording of myself from the microphone, but my friends who I play D&D with online say the quality is much better than my computer's microphone can offer. I also like that the mic is retractable, so I can get it out of my way if I'm not using it. They seem pretty sturdy and well-made. There's definitely something of a weak point where the ear parts attach to the headband, but it hasn't given me any trouble yet and I did put these in my backpack every day way back when school was somewhere you went. The fact that you can detach the cord definitely helps extend its life, as it's not a particularly sturdy cord. It's not cheap or crappy, but it's definitely not heavy-duty either. I would not say the noise cancellation is particularly notable. If that is what you are looking for, these would not be my recommendation. They do cancel a fair amount of noise, but there are much more effective headphones for that on the market.

New prime member and reviewer, this headset is absolutely phenomenal.
Just received my headset in the mail earlier today. I play recreationally on Xbox but work on PS4 and Pc so they’ve yet to be tested. So far here’s my initial reaction. Comfort: 5/5 the ski band headstrap is a great way to describe it. It’s a goggles like headband strap for comfort, with a harder durable plastic outside. Incredibly comfortable. The Ear pads are made of some heavenly foam and feel great. Audio: played some fortnite and division 2 immediately on my X1X, both sounded phenomenal. The directional sound tracked great and it played my music on Spotify over my gameplay (as I usually have it) just fine. Absolutely no complaints on audio. (My last two headsets have been the Xbox AG6 so I feel like it’s a poor comparison but still, love the sound) Overall, sounds great like one would expect. Microphone: I literally plugged in my headset, joined a party of friends, and said “hey what’s up!”. Immediately they asked if I got a new headset because I sounded better. (Like I said, last headset was an AG6 but for Christ’s sake they cost the same.) Overall: no initial complaints whatsoever. Might just be thrilled from having a new headset but my reaction is positive, friends reaction is positive, and I did thorough research before purchasing this. Might seem like a lot for a 50 dollar headset but this is honestly a great value for the level of headset. By the way, I’m a new Prime member and this is my first review. Have yet to evaluate the longevity of this headset, but comfort, sound, and mic quality are all there. Plus the white ones look sick! But seriously, there is nothing to lose and only a well priced headset to gain from this purchase. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

It's Okay, But Not a Big Fan (SteelSeries Arctis 3 - White Wired)
It's 3 stars b/c it lasted for awhile and is pretty cute, but I personally feel that the cons outweigh the pros. I've been using it since May 15, 2020. I wanted to really use it for awhile before writing a review. Pros: - It sits on the head comfortably with the head with the band - It's nice to have a mute button and a volume slider on the headset - Very sleek design - The retractable microphone looks cool - Head doesn't get hot - Large ear cuff so your ears do not get sore, also is good for glasses users - Still works after over a year of everyday use, also accidentally dropping it a lot - Reallllllly long cord, I can nearly walk across my room with my headphones still on Cons: - If you tilt your head forward or back it will slide right off, b/c it ultimately just balances on your head - it doesn't have a foam piece on the microphone, so background noise is easily heard. Even then it sort of sounds like I'm talking through a walkie talkie - the ear cuffs aren't flat / taut against the head so there will be a LOT of noise leaking, which the microphone will pick up on. (but you can barely hear anything if you don't have it louder) - Sounds aren't as CRISP as I would have liked Honestly, for the same quality you could buy the $20 headsets instead. Only thing that has really changed are the aesthetics, they last longer, and slightly better feel/quality. (I have bought an $18 super cheap headset that lasted me a good 10 months though, so your miles may vary). I did really enjoy it at the beginning of using it (since my only experience with headphones have been with the super cheap ones). Maybe the newer Arctic Series fixed some of these problem? I would save up for a more expensive nicer quality headset. (Do your research! Reddit community is good at sharing pros and cons of different types of headphones)

I've already bought my second pair as a gift!
I found the SteelSeries Arctis 3's when I began my search for a descent headset for my xbox one. After making the transition I'm not sure how I played for so long without these! The sound is exceptional - loud enough to hear both people in your chat party and the game. The volume and mute button are located on the left side of the headset.the microphone can roll up into the headset itself, so you can tuck it out of the way when you don't need to use it. The feature that drove me to this specific headset was the comfort level. This is the most comfortable pair of headphones I have ever worn. I have worn Beats, Sony, and Bose. I personally think that this is the most comfortable headset I have ever worn, and I even take them to work when I know I will be logging onto internet-based meetings (such as Webex, Skype, and goto meeting). I needed up buying a second pair for a buddy I play with, and he loves them just as well. I would say if you can catch these on Sale ($50), these are all you would need for a headset. Even better I was able to try these out on my new gaming PC and they work fairly well for Fortnite on the PC. For anyone looking for a great headset without breaking the bank, this is it.

At this price, I believe you cannot find better sounding headsets that also feels comfortable to wear.

Great mic and audio quality for gaming!
I can clearly hear other people and the game in the background. For the price I recommend it if mic quality is important. My head is large but this fits well and is comfortable for hours, plus the ear cups don't make my ears hot. Buy this if you want decent game audio, a great mic and a comfortable fit for any size.

Super comfy
My main criteria when researching a gaming headset was comfort. These fit the bill! I didn't want to deal with wireless (another set of batteries to worry about) and didn't care about fancy illumination so I went with the Arctis 3. I also love the simple, modern look of them. I use them with my Xbox Series S. I originally got a Turtle Beach set because they were cheap and well-rated but I couldn't wear them longer than 30 minutes. They were so painful to wear and caused my head and neck to experience pressure-related pain and throbbing. Granted, I have a pretty big head so maybe the TB ones are better suited for small heads. I gave the Arctis 3 a try solely because of the "ski goggle" head band feature and I'm SO GLAD I did. I've worn them for multiple hours at a time and they're super comfy. They are a pretty loose fit and the ear cups are nice and cushy. The ski goggle band is the best thing ever. I love wearing these. I could wear them all day. I'm not an audio snob by any means so I can't compare the sound and mic quality to anything but they fit my needs perfectly. I play a lot of Gears of War and can always hear every sound. Mic quality is also great and the retractable mic function is pretty handy for if you just want to listen to music and have the mic out of the way. Overall, this was an awesome purchase and I love them so much. Hope this helps you make your decision.
