Sliding Panels are modern looking and easy to install
After reading reviews here, I went ahead and ordered these panels as I wanted to change the look in the Family Room. These panels are modern looking and were easy to install. The hardest part (for me) was cutting the length of the panels as I needed them to be 80 inches instead of 96 (the standard height of each panel). That was tedious because I had to measure each panel three times (left, right and center) to make sure I had the correct length before cutting. The last thing I wanted was uneven panels. My sliding glass doors are 96 inches wide so I needed to buy two sets. Each set has a maximum track width of 86". I also did not want the panels, when fully retracted, to block my outdoor view. So I wanted the track to be 142" long (96" width of door + 23" x 2, the width of each panel) so I could stack the panels to the left and right of the door opening to maintain the full view. If you are installing multiple tracks side by side, you can remove the plastic end caps of each track at the joining point. This way the panels can slide past the end of one track into the next and avoid any gaps. You can build a valance to cover the tracks if you're concerned that too much of the hardware is visible when the shades are retracted. In my case, I had enough panel material left from the panel cuts to use for the valance. Overall, I highly recommend these. I had looked into the Ikea panels, but those were of inferior quality and the cost would have been almost the same. I preferred the higher quality. The panels look amazing when closed during the day as they filter the light and brighten the room while maintaining full privacy (you cannot see through these panels). In summary, get these without hesitation if you've been considering them.

Nice
These blinds are really nice. Clean lines. Measure twice before cutting the length. Little bit of work but worth it. Love the look!

Review of Two Versions
I purchased two different versions of this product, so my review is for both of them. The first version I purchased was the Pecan wood looking version. The second version was the Mica version. Both were installed ceiling mount. The installation was a breeze. There is a template that comes with to designate where to drill the holes. Two holes on the left, two holes on the right, and one about center. As long as you can draw a straight line and measure a halfway point, then the templates do the rest and you should be able to easily install this. Pilot hole the anchors then put the screws/brackets on. Track goes on the brackets, you twist them, and the bracket is installed. Takes about 15 minutes if you know what to do, 30 minutes if you don't. The material velcros on at the bracket level, you cut it to length, then attach a small metal plate on the bottom to give the curtain some weight. That's pretty much it besides putting on the pull rods. Materials... the Pecan/wood version is better quality than the more expensive Mica version. I've had the Pecan version installed for about 6 months and it hasn't frayed or broken at all. Looks just like the day I installed it. I have it installed where an old mirror closet door was removed from my home office. It was a great investment and easy solution. On the other hand, I just installed the Mica version in a downstairs bathroom and I can already tell on day one that the material is different, cheaper, and not going last. The edges were already fraying just by me handling it and I know it's going to look really bad after awhile with any amount of use. That's really disappointing considering the great quality of the Pecan version and the Mica version was $40-$50 more expensive for an inferior product. If I had to choose again, I would not buy the Mica version, but it's already installed so I guess we'll see how long it lasts. Both products sway if there is any amount of wind. So, if that's a concern a track might help near the bottom. The one I installed in the bathroom sways whenever people open/close the door. This may speed up the fraying on the edges if they are rubbing from swaying around. Overall, I would say the Pecan version is a solid 4 stars. Good quality and price point. I expect it to last awhile. Overall, I would say the Mica version is 3 stars at best. Material is poor quality and it's more expensive. I don't expect it to last and will likely have to replace it in a year or two.

Lovely Panel Blinds ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
These vertical track blinds are beautiful! They are perfect for our bedroom sliding door window. They are very easy to open/close, the material is sturdy, they came with fray guards to place at the bottom of each panel & each panel slides on its own track so that you can open them from both sides. My husband and I hired our friend, a maintenance professional, to put them up for us & it took him approximately thirty minutes to complete. We are happy with how they look, glide & believe it was worth the $$$. We would appreciate being able to buy these same blinds for our bigger living room sliding glass door but they don't have the appropriate size. ☹️

A welcome - and classy - reprieve from standard vertical blinds!
These blinds went into my mobile home, an old '73 model which I am rehabbing, and my sliding glass doors needed an upgrade from some ugly curtains that were there previously. I considered vertical blinds but then happened upon these, which I think turned out great. I built a custom valance for it with building materials that cost all of $20 and added some metal protection plates in the upper left corners of the blind panels that I bought here on Amazon for $7 (Art3d 4-Pieces Peel and Stick Stainless Steel Backsplash Tiles). I'd seen from other GoDear Sliding Panel reviews how the delicate panels could get damaged by the panel pull rod and figured I'd protect them all. The backsplash tiles were pretty easy to cut with a utility knife (scoring several times on both sides and then snapping) and they are backed with a sheet of heavy-duty adhesive (I think they'll stick forever on the woven fabric panels which are mostly made of paper and polyester). But if you want to do the same as I did, beware, because the pull rod needs to be adjusted so it sticks out more away from the panel. You might do different protection plates made of plastic or thinner metal panels that would work without adjustments. The sliding track that came with my original shipment was damaged and I had to write the company to replace it; they replaced it immediately (for free) and that was a huge relief. The panels are indeed woven paper/polyester and I'm not sure they'll last as long vinyl vertical blinds, but they've been up for three months now and still look like new. They certainly won't take a beating like vinyl blinds can, but vertical blinds have their own maintenance issues. To be honest, I think I would go with these sliding panels even if they broke down, since I love the way they look. You can buy replacement sliding panels, but a pair cost $60 and to replace all four you might as well buy the whole kit and get the sliding track as well (which is beautifully built and has other DIY applications for the creative handyman type). I would have given this four stars, given the broken sliding track and how I question the durability of the panels (and how I felt I had to take a step further to protect them), but GoDear was very responsive with the track replacement and only time will tell how really durable the panels are. Given that I love the overall appearance and have pretty much written off ever doing conventional vertical blinds again, I must give GoDear the full five stars. I think GoDear should make the plastic parts on the sliding track out of metal (the plastic is what broke) and that would solve the track issues. This is really an affordable and brilliantly designed alternative to boring old vertical blinds.

Great Design, Versatile
The design of the product allows for multiple set-ups and uses. Good directions!!! It's a four panel and for my use I thought three looked better. Even though the don't instruct on how to take one panel out, I easily figured it out. Wall or ceiling mount was awesome because I really thought I was going to do a wall mount but the ceiling worked better, I was glad that option was available. With left over material I made a valance. Great product. I wish I could buy more of 'material' there are many diy projects I could use it for. Also it was super easy to cut and keep a straight line

Colors: Pecan and Catch Me Product is pretty decent for price
I was looking for earth tone with light filter so ai bought “Pecan”. In my opinion the color isn’t very “earthy” as in brown, sand, type colors. It has an extreme orange undertone especially in the daytime. Good privacy not enough light filtering though. The material is like plastic and very easy to fray. I exchanged Pecan for the color “Catch Me”. I passed on this color initially because description noted grayish color. It’s white but not too white and not too gray and not too ivory/cream. It’s easy to change up decor with this color. In the daytime nice light filters in but at night they appear more close to sheer than light filtering. The material is similar to cellular shades (from Lowe’s Roth Allen brand) and this color will get dirty fast if opening and closing without using the wands. I’d be afraid to steam clean as well. They look nice and will do for the moment. They desperately need a valance. Pictures are both colors daytime and night time.
