I know it’s for 8 and up, but would a 5 year old enjoy if family helped him keep score?

Yes. My friends and family love playing this game. They are ages 2 to 65. All the kids love it. Its such a fun game and easy to set up!

Where is this manufactured?

Unless otherwise noted, I usually assume a product's made in China since nearly everything is these days. In spite of what your parents said, you were also made in China. ;) I think some U.S. companies are moving their manufacturing back home, but they're still so few that the above assumption is usually fairly accurate.

What is the size of the board?

The description says 3 x 19.5 x 14.5 inches

what is the diameter of the balls (in inches)?

Approximately 1 3/8"(maybe 1 1/2")
