how long do you cook it

This canned hominy only needs to be heated to eat, unlike 'dry' hominy which must be soaked/simmered. Rinse it well - add seasonings if you like (cumin seed/ground cumin, chiles, bacon/ham are good, broth as well) Heat and eat.

Is this listing for one 25 oz can?

Yes, it was only for 1 can. I did purchase 2 cans so the total order was $12.95 x2. I live in Georgia and Amazon was the only source I could find for this brand of hominy which was specifically requested for a recipe from a cookbook I purchased (Southern Heat, New Southern Cooking Latin Style - which I highly recommend by the way). I have not had a chance to use this product so I cannot comment further on the quality.

My recipe calls for 6 cups of hominy. How many 25 oz cans will I need?

Texas John, you will need 2 cans of 25 oz. each. The two can will actually be 2 oz over the 6 cups you need. In total you will need 48 oz. to equate to the 6 cups.

Is Juanita's White Hominy GMO free?

Comment below from 2014 says company is changing label to reflect non gmo...its 2020 label does not claim non gmo...so it probably it GMO corn

My favorite hominy

I’m known for my pozole 😋 Everyone says it’s the best and this is the hominy I use. Since I was being lazy and ordered online instead of picking up at the store I was suprised to see a small little can😂😂😂 I laughed at myself. THIS IS THE SMALL CAN OKAY PEOPLE DONT BE LIKE ME.

Good Quality

I really like Juanita's hominy because it's non-GMO; although the label doesn't state that it is. I called Junita's directly and spoke to them and they told me their hominy is non-GMO but they have not changed their label. So I've been trusting their word and continue to buy it for that reason. However, this 25 oz can is real small and I can't believe it's 25 oz. I thought I was getting their large can which I found out Walmart carries off the shelf. I paid way too much for this small can. I will not order it from Amazon again and just walk into the local Walmart.

Posole!!

If you like to make posole this is excellent. I make green posole. Just put some great peppers, preferably roasted, in the blender with some green tomatillos chicken broth, pork or chicken and this can of hominy makes a great meal.
