I bought this facor 2 and when i sniiffed the inside after screwing the lid off it smelt very sharp almost like alcohol. Is that normal

Yes, it’s a dry oil spray so it evaporates and is then dry to touch not greasy at all

Can you apply to the face and scalp ?

It's really oily so I wouldn't, although I suppose if you're just at home or don't mind looking oily then you could put it on your face, but it might irritate your eyes. I love it for my body though. Calypso make a lovely factor 30 hair and scalp protector in coconut smell, Home Bargains sell it. There's loads of facial ones out there too, but they'll all be higher than factor 10.
