True Devotion to Mary: With Preparation for Total Consecration

True devotion to Mary is by far my number one book! haven't read anything more inspirational and moving as this (apart from the catholic bible). I would truly recommend true devotion to anybody, epically to people who have an issue with praying to Mary. After buying two different versions of St Louis De Montfort I've finally found the one which is simply laid out. You have the main text and information in the front part of the book and in the second part you have the consecration perfectly laid out day by day for you. Everyone should read this and try to complete the consecration.

The definitive work on Catholic Marian Devotion and further guidance on consecration. Will take a degree of commitment to get to grips with it, if you are more of a skimmer or prefer ligger texts these are available also.

It is a great grace to be able to read from the heart, True Devotion to Mary! A gift from God for which none of us will ever be worthy. St. Louis de Montfort teaches us what Totus Tuus actually means: the complete giving of ourselves and all that we possess interiorly and materially and all who live in our hearts, to Jesus through Mary. This means that with great love and complete confidence and absolute joy, we hand over everything to Mary, so that we become Her property and possession...and then,... we allow Her to mold our lives as She knows best, with total loving trust in Her immeasurable love for us! What will She do? She will gently take us by the hand to lead us on the path of holiness, in a knowledge of Her Son Jesus. And the more we know Him, the more we will love Him and give ourselves to His Will for us, without wanting anything in return, except the joy of knowing that we have let go of ourselves WITHOUT FEAR to Him through Her. Furthermore, She will teach us to do all things IN Her, THROUGH Her, WITH Her and FOR Her, so that it is no longer we who live, but Mary's Spirit alive in us to adore Our Lord. I challenge you all to be brave in love for Our Lady, so that you might receive a joy beyond comprehension in this life. Do not allow the enemy of our souls to tempt you to think that you will insult Jesus by loving Mary too much. No - He is glorified by our love and trust in His Masterpiece, Mary Immaculate, Our Mother and His! No one could love Mary more than Jesus!

A wonderful book to say the least;Since the reformation of Christs holy church in England and the destruction of what was a most beautiful legacy brought to this country by Saints. Holy Mary is the mother of God and this book tell's us why. I feel so strongly about how the Queen of Heaven has been treated by those who say that being Catholic is being an idolater. All Church of ENGLAND Churches need to read this book. Thank you.

Not everyone will appreciate this dissertation on Mary and the catholic faith, but if you are a believer and interested in developing your understanding then it is well worth the effort. I say effort as the writing style is of course dated which leaves it a little hard to digest. i personally find it difficult to read this style of discourse but that takes nothing away from the content and the authors intent. it is a period piece and he was after all canonized. That should put it in context, it is full of revelation for those of us who want to know more about our faith and how to practice it.

St Monfort explains how important Marian devotion is if one wishes to get close to her Son. Theologically sound and approved by the Church, the book expounds on the topic by using both Scripture and Tradition, showing us that Mary is the easiest and surest way for us to draw closer to Jesus. I thoroughly reccommend the Consecration to all Catholics who are particularly devoted to Mary.

This is a powerful true Devotion to our Blessed Mother. One I would truly recommend everyone to do and carry out . One must stay dedicated and focused while carrying it out . But it will be worth it when completed.

The book itself is great but I was pretty upset to find that the pages were damaged when i opened my package from Amazon - especially since this is supposed to be a gift and I do not have time to return it and wait for a replacement. Also, I’d ordered 2, but only 1 was sent. Amazon has said that the second copy will be sent now that I’ve brought this to their attention, but I’m not sure if it will get here in time. Very disappointing. Also disappointing that the Amazon “chat” feature, didn’t give me the option of letting them know the item was damaged. Other that’s those issues, I highly recommend the book itself. I have a different printing/version of this book, but I really like how this one includes the 33-day preparation for total consecration. It also has some lovely colour images of Our Lady. The only drawback, is that my old book has an actual schedule of sorts (with dates) so you can more easily know on which day to begin/end your 33 days. this book lists the Marian feasts but doesn’t have the actual schedule showing various days when you can begin your consecration so that you end exactly at the correct time to make your consecration on a feast day (which is found in the front of my old 33-day preparation booklet.) I’ve taken off 1 star in my rating for this reason.

This is the definitive work on Marian Consecration! St. Louis de Montfort covers every aspect of TRUE Marian Devotion. Marian Devotion is widely misunderstood by Protestants as well as most Catholics. This IS NOT worship or adoration of Mary, nor does it take away from the rightful worship or personal relationship with Jesus. If lived sincerely it only brings us closer to Jesus. St. Louis, using scripture and orthodox theology explains and teaches the difference between true/legitimate devotion to Mary and warped superstitious or self serving pseudo devotion to Mary. True devotion and consecration to Mary can only bring us closer to Jesus whereas pseudo devotion will do nothing but feed our misguided idea of religion. It is made very clear in this book that placing ourselves under the queenship of Mary, as Jesus was as a child and as He placed John at the Cross, will serve Him and bring a soul closer to Him much faster and better than we can reach on our own. This is by no means the only way to get closer to The Lord, but it is clearly a most beautiful and effective way. This is a classic work by a saint who is most highly regarded by the Catholic Church including Pope John Paul II, St. Maximilian Kolbe and many other canonized saints who made and lived this Consecration to Mary. It is well worth the read and the effort!

Through this book you learn how much Our Blessed Lady loves us.

I read this book there's 36 years ago. After that, I've been reading it to learn more and more about the Virgin. I recommend!
