Exactly WHAT IT SAYS ON TIN! It WORKS PERFECTLY! I LOVE this thing!
i specifically ordered this instead of the one that also timed because I saw there were issues with some of those being on the wrong page when you get to the end of the length. I did not want to fiddle around and so I bought the bog simple version - one click, one lap, done! I need reading glasses and worried I wouldn't be able to read the display, but with my goggles on, (at least in sunlight) I have no problems reading the numbers even though I have trouble reading my digital wrist watch. We will see when I transition to the indoor pools, but the nice thing is that if you click, it registers the number, so as long as you remember to click, you'll get a proper count. It is so clear now, I think I will be fine. IF YOU DON'T LIKE RINGS OR ANYTHING ON YOUR FINGER: I didn't like the idea of having anything on my fingers to get in the way of my stroke, so I got some micro rubber bands and attached the band of the counter to the band of my wrist watch (at first I looped it thru the wrist band's retainer ring, so it looks as if my watch has a tiny watch sitting on the watch band) But the micro hair extension elastics work better, and since this watch is only used for swimming and exercise, I never take the counter off the band. (I will try to add a picture soon). Note, the counter's band is closed as if i were wearing it (coiled up), not flattened - flattening it might break it. A pity they don't sell these with a watch band or a way to attach properly to any watch band, I would definitely wear that. (Yes, I know there's a more expensive item in the form of a watch that does a bunch of other things, but i really wanted simple - and price was right). I find that I obsess less about forgetting what lap I am on and just concentrate on swimming. So I LOVE this thing.

Reliable, easy to use
As an elder whose brain seems unable to reliably count and remember my place in a sequence, this lap counter is a god send. It is reliable, impervious to weather and apparently falls to hard flooring. Mostly, my spouse and I do not have to count out loud to help each other remember which lap we are on during in door walks or how many sit to stands I have completed. For me, a must have.

Last forever
Simple tool. Kind of pricey but these last forever and do the job through repeated use. I only replace them when o lose them.

It is worth it if you swim laps
Works well but you need to figure out how to place it and where to place it on which hand and finger and then press it carefully so it does count lap but not give you credit for two.

Lap counter
I use this to keep track of my laps when I'm swimming in the pool. I always get confused as to how many laps I've swam. I can't make out the display when looking through my googles, but I'm also 58 years old and need glasses to read. When I lift up my googles, I can see the display fine. I've never trusted it, but it has never let me down. I wear it on my forefinger and keep my fingers together when I swim, so I've never had problem with it falling off (a fear I had). It's band is adjustable, and I wear it pretty tight on my finger. I increment it by pushing the little button under the display with the thumb on the same hand that I wear it on. There is a little click I can feel that lets me know it has incremented. I swim a lap, pause, click it, and then off to the next lap. It works fine. When not using it for a while, it turns off, and then when I use it again (two days later) I push it once and it lights up with the last lap count. It lets me know how many laps I swam last time, and then I try to increase my swimming by a lap or two. If you hold the button down for about two seconds, it resets the counter back to zero. I'm very pleased with my purchase. It works fine. If I lose it, then I would buy it again. I can sing songs and think about daily problems when I'm swimnning now, and I don't have to try to remember how many laps I've swam.

Love this counter *****Update to review - Great customer service. See details below*****
*******Update to review. I had to have the battery replaced, and service was incredibly fast. I mailed it from Virginia to Maryland on a Monday and got it back Saturday of the same week.******* First, it's cool-looking. Second, it works great. Third, it fits well - my fingers are small, and the adjustable band is terrific. I was a little concerned about it coming loose in the water, but it stays nice and snug. Fourth, it is easy to read. I wear it on my index finger and the face of the timer faces me. Fifth, it is easy to operate - all I have to do it click it with the thumb of the same hand. You do have to click on it firmly to get it to register, which somehow feels satisfying. I would think it would be almost impossible to get the counter to move by accident. The only (very) minor gripe I have is that when you reset it, it takes like 10 seconds of pressing firmly on the button to get it back to zero. No big deal. I really love this counter and if this one wears out, I will definitely buy the exact same thing again.

Absolutely love it
Buy it. It's great. It fits nice on your finger and stays on just fine. It doesn't disrupt your swim stroke or anything like that. The button is firm so it isn't so easy to press that you would accidentally click it, but it is easy enough to click that you know you clicked it. I guess it would be nice if it beeped when you pressed it but I haven't had any mistakes. I like to press the button when I push off the wall and I'm in the middle of my glide. I haven't been so satisfied with a purchase in a while. It's simple and very practical, I don't have to obsess over keeping count anymore, or stop to record my count on the counter-upper that I had to have next to my water bottle. I can focus more on my thoughts now, I feel more liberated

Whilst the price seemed very high compared to my previous one, comfortable and easy to use.
