Introducing Artificial Intelligence: A Graphic Guide

A very useful read to support me with a project. The conversion of this title to an ebook did not work perfectly as each graphic text was repeated but it was still useful. It taught me not to fear AI and to recognise that it is really surprisingly limited in its application.

Clear introduction to the subject.

Whilst the information is good the text on the graphics is far too small to be easily legible. Get a good reading magnifying glass to read this book.

Some fascinating stuff there. Specially around the link between mind and body and the birth of language as an interaction between communication and internal modeling. Good pointers to dig deeper on some issues.

Interesting enough, and complex ideas well explained in an engaging fashion, but already seems massively out of date in 2020.

I nice wee book thats good at explaining the foundations of AI and how and maybe it can evolve. Only thing that annoyed me was most of the pages were about 5 or 6 lines each. Not sure if that was because of it being kindle or not. However, it is worthh a read if you want to get into AI.

Perfect for the content and the way it's explained. All the series are very intereting, this one the more for me that I have a technical background, but not specialised on the matter. Higly reccomended.

The book felt riveting and exhilarating from page one to the last chapter. Every school student above grade 10 and all adults should read this book, first for fun and then again for a deep dive. Amazon's Kindle Unlimited is a boon for readers everywhere and I sincerely hope everyone makes the best use of its great features.

This book was not at all what I expected, but it ended up being exactly what I needed. I was expecting a book that gives visual examples of how artificial intelligence systems work or are built because I wanted to learn to build them myself. But in contrast, the book gives a very digestible survey of AI history, and more importantly the philosophical questions, debates, and goals that AI has struggled with for decades. At first I thought the illustrations were rather cheesy, but as I read I found them extremely helpful in quickly assimilating the information. Simple things like seeing the same drawing of a person when they are referred to in the text, cements the name with a physical appearance easing the burden of understanding who said what, when, and how it relates to the history of AI. This is actually what I needed, because after learning about the history of AI, what it has tried to do (and failed) and where it is now headed, I realize the AI systems I was hoping to build are not the AI systems I should be learning about today. The book is packed full of facts, terminology, and references that I'll be using again and again as I continue to learn about AI. I learned far more from this book than I expected, including some psychological concepts about how humans perceive and process information. I will certainly be re-reading this book again soon, to pick up the parts that didn't make it into my brain's long-term memory. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to learn about AI.

This graphic guide provides a useful introduction to the topic, but the copy I received was missing pages 113-144. Where these should be, pages 81-112 have been included for a second time instead. Due to the low cost of the item is not worth the effort to return the book.

Nice books for me as a professional AI user in natural sciences (geophysics and geology exploration). A good review and state of the art on the AI subject.
