Let’s make something clear from the beginning, this is not a luxury high end board game but it doesn’t claim to be. This is in fact great value for the price and the quality is remarkably good for the sale price. It’s a good sized travel friendly chess /drafts board. All the pieces fit inside the chess board when it folds over and locks making it ideal for traveling. Perfect for keeping all the pieces in a safe place. Positive points: Board folds and locks in place with a latch. Both chess and drafts (checkers) Small and easy to transport when folded. Magnetic chess pieces Negative: This is minor but the drafts (checkers) are not magnetic like the chess pieces. Other than that, we will get many happy hours with the family playing chess and drafts with our new board.

I bought this for my son as he loves chess and it looks really good for the price. It is nice and light but looks more expensive. The clasp to open the chess board can be a bit fiddly, but once you get the hang of it its really simple to open.

Well... not what I expected, but actually OK. Please note the description is VERY misleading, as no part of this set is made of wood or is 'hand-carved by artisans', the chess pieces, the board are ALL high quality PLASTIC. But I have not sent this back as it is actually very good, light weight, magnetised pieces and sturdy. Ideal for travelling. It is a practical and inexpensive chess set. The draughts (checkers) pieces I like less as they have rounded sides and so do not stack at all well. But all things considered for thirteen pounds a perfectly acceptable chess set. The pieces come with simple netting bags and fit neatly inside the folding board.

I usually don't write many reviews but I thought I'd leave one for this article. I bought this chess/checkers game for travel, but still wanted a nice set to play on. The chess set looks very nice. It is made of plastic but looks like it's wooden. I personnaly don't like too small chess sets and this one is perfectly sized, not too big - so convenient for travel - and not too small either. The pieces are magnetic and stick v well to the board, I could flip the game upside down and no pieces moved. The weight of the pieces was also a nice surprise, I usually find the pieces too light when they're made of plastic but these ones are have a nice weight which gives a nice feeling when you move them on the board. The only (minor) detail I'd like to point is that the rules are not detailed enough for absolute beginners, so if you have never played chess in your life, I would still recommend this set to play with, and would refer to other sources to learn the rules in detail, and there are plenty (books, internet pages / videos etc...).

this is a great chessboard. For the price, I am not sure if there is a close match. Pieces are a decent size so they won't disappear in your hands. Although it is plastic, it actually looks better than that. All in all well made. Suitable for adults and kids.Very pleased.

Brought this for my son because he loves chess. Yet I still can’t play for the life of me. I love that it’s magnetic aswell. I’d recommend it.

A excellent product and extremely good value for money, OK the pieces are not hand crafted from hardwood but they are well formed in plastic and the magnets work well, meaning less risk of an accidental upset.

C’est mon deuxième achat de ce plateau de jeu d’échecs et de dames, et je suis toujours aussi satisfaite ! Le plateau est vraiment très bien conçu : solide, esthétique, et agréable à utiliser. Les pièces sont de bonne qualité, bien équilibrées et parfaites pour des parties conviviales ou plus sérieuses. Que ce soit pour les échecs ou les dames, ce jeu offre une excellente expérience. Idéal pour les débutants comme pour les joueurs confirmés. Je recommande sans hésiter !

Da diverse settimane mio figlio ha esternato una forte curiosità per il gioco degli scacchi, così, anche per accontentarlo mi sono deciso ad acquistare una scacchiera che non costasse troppo. Attirato dal prezzo e dalle diverse recensioni positive ho scelto questa. Sono rimasto davvero colpito dai dettagli e dalla cura con cui è stata costruita questa scacchiera. Sia la struttura che le pedine dalla dama e degli scacchi sono fatti in legno, in particolare quelle degli scacchi con una cura dei dettagli davvero stupefacente. La base degli scacchi è magnetica. Tutte le pedine arrivano imbustate, ma possono essere conservate in tre appositi sacchetti, fatti di materiale tipo juta, a maglia larga, inclusi nella confezione. I sacchetti vanno poi riposti nella parte interna della scacchiera che è incavata (la parte inferiore quando la scacchiera è aperta). Occupa poco spazio in quanto si piega a libro, quindi è anche più facile da trasportare. Sono contentissimo dell'acquisto in quanto da un costo così basso non mi sarei mai aspettato un prodotto di così elevata qualità. Consiglio sicuramente il prodotto!!!

Se trata de un tablero de bastante calidad y buen acabado. Plástico fuerte y sólido, con un buen acabado imitando a madera. El tamaño del tablero (30x30) es perfecto, tal vez las piezas son un poquito bajas, pero tienen un acabado muy bueno y con todo lujo de detalles. Me ha sorprendido gratamente lo bien que se sujetan al tablero magnético, no se cae incluso colocando el tablero bocabajo. Lleva un fieltro en la base y hace que se deslicen perfectamente. Volvería a comprarlo sin dudarlo. Me ha costado 15 y es prime. Amazon muy bien como siempre!

Het is een hoed magnetisch bord met mooie schaakstukken. In de beschrijving staat wel dat er mooie netvakken zijn om de stukken in op te bergen maar dat ontbreekt! Dat is dus onware informatie of het ontbreekt bij mijn bord. Hoe zit dit?
