This tool is very rugged, and I have every reason to expect it to last a lifetime. Additionally what worked out really well (perhaps by chance) is the fact that the spacing of the octaganol holes on the inside of the tool lined up with the pre-drilled holes that had bolts in them for a water bottle mount, so this helps to hold it in place and not slip up or down or turn around while riding! (my water bottle is obviously mounted elsewhere ;0)

Yes, you,can just grab the chain or use a stick maybe to reseat it, but my kid slips his chain pretty frequently, and I was tired of getting my hands full of grease and/or my fingers scraped up by the chainrings or cogs. I really debated buying this since it seems a truly ridiculous price for a simple device. That said, this morning we were riding on a new trail and, true to form, my son slips his chain. Out comes the device and 10 seconds later the chain is back on with no skinned knuckles or a drop of grease on me. Away goes the device and we ride on. It worked, easily and quickly. The only reason I’m going four instead of five stars is the price. At half the price, it would be a fantastic lightweight addition to the toolkit. As it stands, I like the thing but feel kind of dumb for paying $16 usd for it.

This tool makes it super easy to place the chain back onto the crank wheel if it falls off. Highly recommended.

Does what it's made to do. They could have put more thought into making parts of the handle into some nut tightners and a valve core tool as well.

I use my bike quite a bit to commute around the city and have always taken it into the shop for repairs and tune ups, even for the simplest repairs. Great to have a lightweight, small tool that I can use to switch out my worn out chains! Nice concept to have it attachable to the bike as well.

If you want to keep your hands free of chain grease, then this is the tool for you. If you ride in the city, and can't find a stick to do the job this is just super handy. Keeps your fingers out of the chain ring and no more grease on your gloves/bars/kit!

Einfach genial, funktioniert einwandfrei

A few months ago I got really angry with my bike chain slipping off. I run a tight mechanical ship and the chain was clean, tight, but kept popping off. I saw this tool and though EUREKA! It would solve getting my fingers dirty. The thing is - since I bought it my chain has never slipped off. Perhaps it has a supernatural quality that stops the chain slipping off maybe? Well - either way it is a handy tool, a good design and who cares whether it is supernatural or not - it seems to be the perfect tool for the problem I once had.....
