I'm a taxi driver and I was thinking of getting one of these bulky big note scanners, but that would be impractical as there's no space in my car for that. Now this little pen works a treat. I don't need to worry about getting fake notes anymore. It's lightweight, I just hang it on my badge's lanyard and it's always available for me. Here in the UK we have polymer notes, so the torch end is useful for checking. I recently went to Poland, where they still have paper money and the pen side of the checker got a lot of use. As for the quality I find it good. It does the job and doesn't seem flimsy. It's easy to use, you just press the button on the lid. Its the right light frequency as well because the fluorescent number on the notes shows 2 different colours. Not sure how to change the battery in them, but it can't be that hard. Some might say it costs a lot, I paid around £4.50 I think. You can get a discount, if you buy in bulk. It pays for itself very quickly as you don't accept fakes anymore. Checked it on a sunny day outside and at night. It still works but it's a bit faded in the sun, you need to find shade or cover it with your hand. Great item!

It all works well. The pen cap was very difficult to remove but it becomes easier after the first time.

Arrived on time, suitably packaged, good value. They are about the size of a whiteboard pen or a permanent pen. Press the black clip on the "cap" and a purple light comes out of the end. Shine the light onto the suspected note, in the correct place and the hidden value is reveled. No value = fake note. Inside the cap is a yellow tip which makes a mark on paper but no mark left on a good note. We use the uv light on all cash. Encourages people not to try to deceive. So far no problem. Don't know about battery replacement. I guess for the price we will just buy more.

I had gone to the USA a couple of years ago and in one of the shops I was given a $50 note which I used it in another restaurant. The restaurant guy immediately said it was a fake note. I immediately went to the guy who gave me the note and no questions asked - he exchanged it to the new one. So I decided to buy a pen as part of the travel kit. I used it abroad for the larger denomination and worked like a charm Definitely worth it.

Wouldn’t recommend, the button to turn light on doesn’t work. Shame.
