The Gold Coast

Very Good read had already read the sequel the "Gatehouse" which I enjoyed greatly so had read them the wrong way round but did not detract to much from making an interesting read.First got into author on holiday,swapping book in Spanish hotel library reading the best book in my opinionof this author called "Up Country" a really excellent book.Any way can recommend this book.

Very slow and uneventful for well over 600 pages. The last 40 to 50 pages really livened up. I really don’t know how I persevered after the first 100 pages. I suppose it was because I had read the sequel a few years ago that I did.

I have enjoyed about 10 books written by this talented author. Sadly this book, although well written, has not been added to the list. I felt that it was too sex orientated, and that the mafia based story was too shallow. I ended up speed reading it, hoping that there would be a riveting episode. On to the next book!

Where has Mr DeMille been all my life? I wish I had read this twenty years ago, but would I have appreciated it! The sarcasm, the wit and the depth of character are some of the best I have ever encountered. Can't wait to start another.

Great read from Nelson Demille. Main character has a great sense of humour!

For anyone who enjoyed The Great Gatsby, add a story of intrigue and crime and you have an incredibly good page turner. I loved it!!

A great read. You need to read The Gate House too. Never disappointed with this author.
