Finally found a travel kit that isn't bulky! My husband has been using this black bag for a few trips now, and it’s holding up incredibly well. Gravel Explorer MINI Waterproof Small Travel Toiletry Bag has exceeded my expectation as a compact travel toiletry bag (as a Dopp kit). This is probably a minimalist's dream bag and the design and quality is top of the class. It has a beautiful zipper closure that works very well and the flap/lips that covers the zipper is really cool. The silicone loop that's attached on the one end is handy if there's no good counter space to set it down. The smooth surface with Gravel log side has a shallow room than the other side. So I could put electric tooth brush, brush head and toothpaste, a collection of travel size lotions, etc on the other side. The special polyurethane fabric is definitely waterproof and the smooth texture outside is really nice which reminds me of aged suede or non slippery silicone phone case that I could grip easily. I highly recommend this kit for minimalist person (especially after watching minimalists documentary) and a very picky designer/architect/engineer who might have 'OCD' spectrum personality. It will really satisfy the needs of the clean and well executed product for certain types of people. If I could add, I will get a bright red or orange colored silicone zipper pull that I would make one side compartment to the other easily identifiable. I thought this bag was priced a little high at first. However after using it for my recent trip, I thought the company must have hired a really skilled thoughtful designer to come up with this MINI version of the product and also working with a quality production company. I would say it is definitely a great investment to use for the rest of your lifetime and I'll cherish mine for the frequent camping trips and out of town trips. Don't look further. You have this kit, you will be done with not needing any other dopp kit especially if you travel light with a carry-on luggage only.

Firstly, I like this. Good compact size, and it seems well made. My only complaint is that I wish there was some internal organization.. like webbed pockets or something to keep things from being just a bag of unorganized items.

Perfect form factor for packing down my larger dopp bag into a weekend sized bag. It pretty much fits everything I need into this neat little form factor that I can more comfortably fit into my backpack. The one thing I wasn't able to fully fit was my toothbrush though which is disappointing. I have a Phillips One Sonicare toothbrush with its own neat little travel case. I like the toothbrush since it protects itself in its own case but its just barely too long to fit into the toothbrush pocket on the pouch. I think I'm just going to keep it loose within the pouch without fitting it into a smaller pocket but part of me almost wish I went with their explorer mini even though there's less compartmentilization.

My favorite toiletry bag! Great size to fit all of my toiletries. I like how they have a separate compartment for your "wet" items like shampoo/soap containers. I like the individual compartments for all your different toiletries. The zipper is strong and of good quality. I like thickness and overall strength of the bag.

Perfect toiletry bag when travelling light. It carries all my usual bits in a small form factor and the fact it’s basically waterproof eliminates the stress of things bursting in transit in my bag. I like the secondary pocket for separating the toothbrush from the other items although I’m using that for keeping my razor separate after a few nasty cuts from having one loose in a bulk pocket. This now goes everywhere with me when I travel and using hotels.

I watched many reviews about the Gravel Explorer mini prior to purchasing. Looking for a compact toiletry bag, it seemed like the ideal choice. Photos and videos do not do justice to the materials and build quality of the bag. If you are on the fence about either of those, do not hesitate, you will be impressed. The bag feels great in the hand, and I enjoy the waterproof zippers. To date I have not owned a bag with a hanging strap. I don't think I can go back to one without it now that I have. A wet bag on a foreign hotel counter has always rubbed me the wrong way. Hanging this one from a towel rack or similar will be a welcome change. I can fit a compact electric toothbrush (Philips One), deodorant, compact hair product, a small razor, lens cleaner, and moisturizer without straining the zippers. Personally I would never need a larger bag, however if I did I would not think twice about one of Gravel's larger offerings. My wife will be using an Explorer Slim in no time. In addition to the product itself, Gravel's customer service is the best I have ever received from a company. I had some issues with shipping and tight timelines. I voiced my concerns to Gravel about receiving products in time for an upcoming trip. They bent over backwards to do everything they could to get me on my way with the Explorer Mini in hand. To say they exceeded my expectations would be an understatement. This gives me every confidence that Gravel will stand behind their product in the long term. The bag is nice, but the customer service has made me a loyal customer for life. I'll recommend this bag or another Gravel bag to anyone who asks.
