I don't think this should get poor feedback for not being child safe. Buy an all plastic one if that's what you want.For those who want a nice cheap real wood and skin tambourine this is great value. The head has a better tension than others I've tried and the hoop is solid wood rather than plywood so you get a good tone. I've made one into a banjo ukulele (for an adult) and it's excellent.

Nice little toy
The tambourine looks ok and plays alright, as described it is quite small but still makes a nice rattle. This makes a great gift to someone who does not live with you:)
