on the botton no place for a hole any one have answer on this a hole on the  only

As someone else said... it just drops right in like a regular k-cup. 
The bottom is concave so that it won't interfere with the bottom piercing needle. Also, it is stainless mesh on the bottom and sides to allow flow through. 
Make sure the rim of the k-cup is free of coffee grounds, and snapped tight all the way around!
I have had no issues with mine so far. 
I really like it!

Question 3

Anyone tried the paper filters with these? I would like the ease of using the small paper filters for easy cleanup if they will work.

I have found that I can use paper filters designed for a four cup regular coffee maker, way cheaper and they work just fine, just push the filter inside and fold the edges over, machine excepts fine. Nice you can purchase them everywhere. Really easy to pull them out and toss away. Also makes for a stronger cup of coffee and no residue.

Do they have to be positioned in a certain way so that the bottom needle doesn't make a hole in the mesh?

Accepted Answer

You'll want to position with the hinge to the back but no matter how you position it the needle won't be able to harm the mesh. The needle will be going into a depression and won't touch anything no matter how the basket is turned.
