Product Description ------------------- Lumatek electronic ballast feature dimmable stable light output - which is excellent for ceutical agriculture, laboratories and other uses where precise regulated output is essential. Fast start up - it reaches full brightness in under one minute whereas magnetic ballasts take longer. Due to their design and running, these ballasts are completely silent. They boast a small compact design - for example a 600 watt 230 volt ballast weighs less than 3.75 kilos compared to heavier magnetic ballasts. They produce less heat and are manufactured with cut-off circuitry - meaning that they cut off when a short is detected for ultimate safety. Their design also ensures a longer bulb life: lumen output loss over time (with the correct lamp) is dramatically less than with magnetic ballasts. Lumatek ballasts are also fully interchangeable: Lumatek ballasts can light both HPS and MH bulbs (please note that the super lumen switch cannot be engaged on metal halide bulbs).
