I don't have an Alexa device in this room and don't always have my phone with me to use the Alexa app. This switch gives me the original manual functionality back for the light to supplement all the benefits of the smart features. Very easy to setup in the Tapo app and the switch was also picked up by Alexa automatically so I assume it can be used with non Tapo lights (although I have not tried this). Connects wirelessly and uses a button battery for power.
