go for a cheap "energy-inefficient" light bulb instead
It blew VERY quickly. Maybe 5 days? Maybe a week max? Its a lot of money for such a poor quality product (from this seller at least?) I've got a chameleon and its important to keep his basking spot hot as well as bright. This light bulb is actually not very bright (I had it outside as an additional light source in rainy/foggy weather). So my advice, please research your lighting correctly - for gods sake don't rely on their description - for the type of reptile you have. This is quite a useful article on the subject http://www.tortoisetrust.org/articles/lighting.html Going for cheap bulbs is probably a better option in many cases: look for reflector bulbs with low Energy Class ratings (like F) - it effectively means high "waste" of heat from the lamp. Which is what you want with reptiles - but not in domestic cases. good luck P.S. to note i purchased 50 watt, others are different - probably brighter and hotter (i hope). Still instead of ordering a higher wattage next time in the hope that it will last longer, consider cheaper (and better!) alternatives

Perfect for my tortoise habitat
Great heat bulb! It warms up quickly and provides consistent heat for my reptile's enclosure. My tortoise loves basking under it. So far, it's lasted well without burning out. Definitely recommend for reptile owners!
