Stovax Thermic Seal Heat Resistant Stove Rope Adhesive Glue

This is a small (50ml) flexible pot of 'Stovax Thermic Seal - High Temperature Rope Adhesive', but it will go a long way (5-10+ metres?). Received in December it was v. cold so left it 24 hours on mantlepiece. Ignore shaking, knead bottle with fingers and invert (it may not flow down inside the bottle even then). I snipped the top off the nozzle and squeezed to the point the nozzle was full and delivered a bit of grey cream-like texture onto a piece of scrap (after a drop or two of liquid), closed top and kneaded again, but I don't know that this was even necessary. Cleaned groove with a wire brush and then dry rag. Only a small line of creamy grey glue was needed and I may have used more than necessary, slightly clogging the weave of the rope. Avoid tendency to stretch the rope as you introduce it into the groove. Closed stove door and lit up so that it heated up steadily over half an hour as advised. Appears to be very effective indeed. Not sure how well it will keep once opened.

Easy to use and does the job

Bought this to re-attache a rope-seal on my log-burner. Finding an adhesive 'man enough' to do this job took a while but this substance actually looked good and when applied felt like the perfect consistency for the job. Stovax s' heat resistant glue is very easy to apply and leaving to dry overnight provided a very strong fire-proof bond. There was just enough in quantity to cover the entire edge of my door. I would highly recommend this product for use in fire-proof applications.

Does what it says on label. Used it a year ago to reattach rope door seal on my stove and still very well stuck! Clean off old glue residue (will pick off with fingers), apply and close door squashing rope into place in correct position. Once cured run stove to fully cure glue

Good stuff used to reattach metal rope on lids of Aga

Needs quite a large hole making on the spout as it's thick and doesn't flow through a small hole well, but it works very well and no after smell when it gets very hot...

Found this easy to use and very effective. I've not ever had to glue rope to wood burner stove before as this is the first time we've owned one - that said, I followed the simple instructions and it has worked a treat. You have to shake the contents for about 10 seconds before it begins to flow and mix in the bottle - then you're away! Recommended product.
