Good for 5 year old
My 5 year old daughter loves being quizzed. Good questions that aren't too frustrating for normal kindergartners!

Fun, Educational, Well Made
I bought these cards for my 6 year old son (kindergartener) for Christmas. He is very active and is not into workbooks or flashcards in general, but I wanted to work with him on educational topics. Luckily, he really saw these cards as a game and had fun doing them with me. The subjects cover patterns, fill in the letter sound, how many, find shapes, find objects that start with a certain letter, telling time on a standard clock, how much money needed to buy an item (using quarter, dime, nickel, penny), prepositions (eg which bear is under the bridge?), portions (which pizza is in halves), etc. My son knew enough of the answers to make it a speedy and rewarding game. He likes that after each question card, which has three illustrated puzzles, there is an answer card on which the answer is highlighted in some way. That way he could check the answers himself and see what he had gotten right. On the harder questions he didn't know the answer to such as adding up the value of the coins to buy something, I was able to add in a verbal lesson like, "a penny is 1cent and a dime is 10 cents," bascially giving him enough information to help him put the answer together himself. The only down side is that we have already gone through all the cards within a week after Christmas. He remembers the answers to all the questions now without even really looking at the question. He just recognizes the illustration. So, I will put them away for awhile and pull them out again after a month or so and see if we can reuse them. They are a little spendy considering how fast we went through them, but I see now that I really like the Brain Quest products and have my eye on some other ones for future purchases.
