Performs as advertised!
I stumbled upon an article about occlusion training in one of my online news articles so I did some research to see what it is all about. The science is definitely there to back up the training so I just needed to find some quality BFR bands to try out. I ordered the BFR Bands PRO X Model, 2 Pack on Wednesday, May 1 and they were delivered Saturday, May 4 (I chose the standard free shipping). I finally got to try them out tonight and all I can say is...wow! I was eager to try them because having recently turned 60, I just can't pump the weight I used to be able to so a lot of time run out of steam long before I can get a good pump. I used these tonight and did some bicep curls with the bands on. I used 10 lb dumbbells (about 20% of my 1 rep max) and did the 30-15-15-15 rep sets. Also did some tricep pull downs and incline bench press using the bar with 30 lbs on it. I got such an incredible pump. Not sure I had the bands quite tight enough but it was my first time so I didn't want to over do it. I haven't had a good pump like this in a long while. Its been a couple hours since my workout and my arms are still "shaky" indicating I got a decent workout. These bands are great. Easy to put on and easy to take off. And the markings help make sure you get the same "pull" on each arm (or leg depending on which you are using them on). I'm really looking forward to seeing how my muscles react to this new type of workout over the next few weeks. I was also experiencing paid in my elbow when curling before with heavy weights; didn't have any pain at all using the 10 lb dumbbells but got a hell of a lot better pump. I am now a "believer".

So far so good
I first heard of BFR training years ago, but I always thought it was for hypertrophy/body builders. Saw Travis Ortmayer (World's Strongest Man finalist) using them and referenced some info put out by the guys at Kabuki Strength Labs. So I did a little digging myself and found a bunch of interesting research discussed over at Stronger by Science. Apparently it has little effect on hypertrophy (though it does give you an insane pump temporarily) but is actually far more potent for strength gains and recovery/rehab. So I'll be trying these out a few times a week and pairing them with some of the workouts that use areas where I have arthritis and chronic pain and see if these make all that more manageable. If not, I at least hope to reap the strength benefits of following heavy sets with light weight bonus rounds with BFR. I've only used them a couple times so far, and without having enough time to REALLY see the effects I can say the workouts with them have felt pretty intense on the appendages I've used them for (put them on the arms for a bench and bench accessories run through on Tuesday morning after benching heavy Monday night and used them for some light weight squats and leg extensions after a heavy squat session last night), so I'm optimistic that these will do what I want them to to some worth while degree. Either way, they're not expensive so it can't hurt to try them. If there's anything substantial that changes over the next few months I'll edit it into my review, but so far I'm thinking this is a solid buy.

Easy to use and adjust - much better than wraps!
I was using my knee wraps as a sub for a set of BFR bands, but decided to get this set b/c it looked like these would be much easier to use. After using them several times over the last couple of weeks, I'm sold! These are quick-on/off compared to knee wraps, much more comfortable, and with the markings on the straps - much easier to get consistent compression. The "no-pinch" one-hand adjustment buckles are well-designed, sturdy, and more than worth the extra few $! These have saved me at least 5 minutes in my workout compared to working with the knee wraps, which is very valuable b/c during this pandemic, my gym allows limited numbers for limited time slots. No slackin'! Only negative issue is with the booklet that is included. It has multiple grammatical errors, and seems very elementary - shows someone doing basic/routine lifting exercises with bands on their arms or legs. Not very useful for a seasoned or experienced lifter but BFR training is geared toward this group. Only useful piece of info was the suggested lifting plan with number of sets & reps. That said, I would still buy these again & heartily recommend these bands to anyone considering purchasing this type of lifting accessory. Thanks, BFRBands!

Good product until it wears out in a few months
The first problem is the instructions. A link to the videos didnt work. I had to go back to Amazon and eventually got to the correct link. After watching several of the videos, with different instructions for different style bands, I still couldnt find out how to set the tightness. It has numbers on the bands...it would have been good to know approximately what number to set it at. I dont know what "70% tightness" feels like. In fact I never did figure it out. But I know when it feels too tight so I back off a little from "too tight". The BFR system of working out has convinced me it is effective. The system assures that you exercise to intense lactic acid burn. Probably would have also worked without the bands. The biggest problem is that after about 3 months, with light daily use, both straps are now broken. The mechanism for tightening and release just isnt that durable. So take that into account if you decide to buy. I will replace with a different band and hope that it holds up better.

Good quality bands Sometimes they don’t do tight enough and are hard to make sure they are at the right pressure Good value for money though

I love how quickly they came in the post - arrived 2 weeks earlier than promised. The bands are excellent quality and do what they are supposed to.
