Western Digital Purple 1TB Surveillance 3.5 Inch SATA 6 Gb/s Hard Disk Drive with Allframe 4K Technology - 180TB/yr, 64MB Cache, 5400rpm - WD10PURZ

Surveillance hard drive market is becoming crowded now. But, still I have no doubt to say WD Purple is the best hard drive for when it come so Surveillance hard drive range . I tried Toshiba, Seagate in past but comes to end of the verdict that in terms of reliability, performance, this a long lasting hard drive. Even my old drives, (500gb) nearly 5 years old, still absolutely working fine, no issue, only I needed a big storage for my DVR as My DVR got only one hard drive slot, so I had to replace with 1TB. I trust this brand. I would highly recommend this WD Purple hard drive if you are need to upgrade or replace you existing cctv hard drive.

Replaced existing failed drive and now works perfectly

Bought cctv system without hard disk so looking for cheap option . 1 tb going to last one month then its overwrite which is enough for me . So far so good easy to install, screw came with my dvr so just need to attach and plug in with dvr. Main reason to buy this because its for 24h surrivilliance . Its 3.5inch interenal hard drive . Running without problem .

Installed and working in a few minutes

The unit does exactly what it is intended for, once it has been installed and formatted. Super easy to install as a replacement unit and it comes extremely well packaged and protected for shipping/delivery.

Arrived within time. Safely packaged and intact. Seems to have successfully done the job that it was purchased for, to increase capacity in a PVR. Recognised by the PVR system OK, formatted and investigated successfully too. So no worries of incompatibility, despite the age difference between this current, state of the art SATA drive, and the original PATA-equipped and SATA adapted PVR unit. The ITb did turn out to be around only 0.96-ish when formatted, which is slightly disappointing, but not unexpected. Will now have to wait and see how it performs during recording and play back over time. At the moment, things look good.;

I bought it to go in my Humax box but it turned out this was not the cure so I bought a case and use it to record on,films etc.

Installed this into an NVR. Very easy to install, just hook-up the two leads and it's ready to operate after the NVR has formatted the HD. Records CCTV effortlessly, providing first-rate playback. Expect this HD to have a life time of at least 5 years, hopefully more as per my previous HD. Good buy for the price and would recommend for either normal PC use or NVR.

Bin echt überrascht wie leise diese Festplatte im Betrieb ist. Ich habe diese in meinem Homeserver verbaut um darauf die Aufzeichnungen meiner Kameras (5 Stück) 24/7 zu speichern. Vorher liefen diese auf eine WD Red, welche schon sehr zu hören war im Betrieb. Einzig die Verpackung war nicht besonders gut, lediglich in Luftpolsterfolie...

Ce disque a été conçu pour les systèmes de vidéosurveillance qui accèdent constamment en écriture aux fichiers de sauvegarde des images des caméras. Dans un système d'enregistrement à 4 caméras en 1080p, ce disque de 1To fait ce qu'on attend de lui. Il est plutôt silencieux et je n'ai pas remarqué de surchauffe dans ce petit système au refroidissement passif (pas de ventilateur). Au final, un achat à conseiller pour qui veut équiper un système de surveillance H24/7J avec un disque conçu pour cet usage.
