Gunpla 10 Pieces Drill Bits 6mm Glass and Tile Drill Bit Set Tungsten Carbide Drilling Tool

We went to visit a relative and they needed help to fit a bathroom cabinet onto a tiled wall. The drill bit used just wasn't getting through the tile. I looked up what type of drill bit was needed. These ones, with their tungsten carbide tips, seemed the best ones to go for. I had them sent direct and apparently they made a perfect job of drilling the requisite holes in the tiles, which turned out to be at least 1cm thick. You get a sturdy pack that can be used to store them in, with 5 different sizes - 4,5,6,8 and 10mm. of drill bit The current price of £8.75 is good value for money, in my opinion.

I brought these bits thinking it would take a few to drill the wall tiles. Was i wrong. The first bit drill all 12 holes no problem and would possibly drill more. Good quality and value

Basic set and works ok

Cheap and cheerful but they do the job. These did 4 holes in a super hard porcelain tile before capitulation. But when you consider the price next to say the Erbauer from Screwfix (nearly £20 for one) then these are a bargain.

These drill bits were like a hot knife through butter, I see why they sell in multiple packs, you do send to blunt a few. I found 10 holes max before you had to really hold your drill to stop slipping

These TCT drills need extra care as they are very fragile. TC is very hard and brittle but because these tips do not have much support and are very thin any imperfections in the substance you are drilling will cause the tips to chip or break. I used these for thick porcelain tiles which needed lots of water and a low to medium cutting speed. The water cooling helps to prevent them going blunt too quickly but does nothing for the breaking. TCT can normally run quite hot but the attachment to the drill shank is usually a weak point for too much heat hence the water. I used 4 drills for 9 holes so not too bad. Not a good idea to drill the grout between two tiles. better to use a masonry bit or a diamond bit.

As along as you do not overheat ( at which point they fall apart) these drill the hardest porcelain tiles well

I tried the 6mm drill in massonry / brick external wall. You need an excellent drill to do it, and some pressure, and a bucket of water to regulary wet/clean the drill, and the hole. The hole is precise since the action does not need the small vibrations of a hammer drill. The drill is only good for a few holes as it becomming dull is unavoidable. I wish i had an alternative product at Amazon.co.uk to recommend. I just saw the 100s of positive reviews and thought how rediculous. I very doubful of how well the drill bits work for glass and marble... probably a big lot of precision on your part ... keeping the pressure for 10 -20 minutes to get the length (for example) of the dowel you would to like to insert ... but i only tried it in Masonry.

Ganz ehrlich, ich habe schon einige Fliesenbohrer ausprobiert. Zuletzt einen! für 14,99 Euro aus dem Baumarkt, um ein paar Dinge in unserem neuen Bad anzubringen (Handtuchhalter usw.). Leider ist der Bohrer kaum durchgekommen. Minutenlanges Bohren hatte nur wenige Millimeter Bohrtiefe zur Folge. Ganz normale Fliesen, aber offensichtlich welche von der härteren Sorte :-( . Da ich keine Lust auf den Stress hatte, habe ich mir probeweise einfach mal diese hier bestellt. Kosten ja im Vergleich nicht viel. Und was für ein Unterschied. Mit diesen Bohrern war ein Loch in ca. 10 Sekunden fertig. Die gehen wirklich durch wie Butter. Man kann punktgenau ansetzen wegen der spitzen Spitze und diese frisst sich ab der ersten Drehung direkt in die Fliese. Kein Abrutschen und kinderleicht. Und dabei habe ich lediglich meinen Akkuschrauber benutzt. Über die Haltbarkeit kann ich nichts sagen, da ich nur noch einige Löcher zu bohren hatte, aber die verbleibenden 7 Löcher waren kein Problem. Da man hier aber 10 Bohrer bekommt, reicht dieses Set also mindestens für 70 Löcher. Ich vermute aber mal, es wären mehrere Hundert. Für 10 Euro ein unschlagbares Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis. Ich bin jedenfals begeistert. Update: Benutze immer noch den ersten Bohrer. Ich musste nun doch noch einige Löcher mehr bohren und zwar in eine Fliese, die brutal hart ist. Irgendeine Steinimitation aber offensichtlich für den Einsatz im Weltraum gedacht. Mein "normaler" Fliesenbohrer kratzt diese Fliese nur so eben an. Der Bohrstaub sieht da aus, wie Rauch, so fein und so wenig geht da weg. Beim Schlagbohren bricht sie sofort. Das mit dem Durchgehen wie durch Butter ist dann mit diesem Bohrer bei dieser Fliese auch nicht mehr so, aber wenigstens bekomme ich da in ein paar Minuten ein Loch rein. Wenn man die Bohrmaschine selbst auch ein bißchen kreisförmig bewegt, klappt es noch besser. Ich benutze im Übrigen immer noch nur meinen Akkuschrauber zum Bohren. Update August 2020: Habe mir jetzt nochmal einen Satz bestellt und bin tief enttäuscht. Sie Spitzen der Neubestellung brechen sehr leicht ab. Kein Vergleich mehr mit der ersten Bestellung von vor ein paar Jahren. Also vorsicht: NIcht zuviel erwarten. Die Bohrer bohren immer noch gut in die Fliesen rein, aber sobald man in den Stein dahinter kommt, sollte man den Bohrer wechseln und auch beim Bohren nicht zuviel wackeln. Während ich mit der Erstbestellung sogar in eine normale Wand schlagbohren konnte, brechen die der Nachbestellung sehr schnell ab und man hat die Spitze im Bohrloch stecken, was nicht unbedingt Spaß macht. Offensichtlich hat der Herrsteller irgendetwas am verwendeten Stahl geändert. Sehr schade. Die Dinger waren ein Geheimtip. Jetzt leider von 5 auf 2 Sterne runter.
