Strengthening my wrist while watch TV.
My wrist had become a little weak and sometimes gave me pain playing tennis. A physio check out my wrist, worked on it a bit and gave me some strengthening exercises to do at home with a resistance band as well as correcting my forehand as I had developed a twisting of the wrist action. Then saw an advert for Powerballs. Brilliant little device. I spin whilst watching TV and have noticed an improvement in my wrist. Am hoping that as time goes by the improvement will continue. Have just purchased the travel pouch so it can accompany me everywhere.

Does what it says it does.
I had one of these around ten years ago. Back then it was because me, a design student, was suddenly doing business exams, that section of my uni never having moved past handwritten examinations. I was able to handwrite maybe a line or two before my hand started cramping up. Enter powerball, and the thing, once I'd figured out how to get it going (more on that later), was a lifesaver , or at the very least, the only reason that I managed to pass those exams. Fast forward to now, where me, as someone who is on a computer @10 hours a day, 6 days a week and suddenly my right hand starts hurting and it’s painful to move my fingers. Oh-oh. Google tells me ‘rsi’. As does a friend of mine who hears the basic description and says “Yeah, that’s RSI. It happens at this age in your profession”. Around that point, the fuzzy memory of my old powerball comes up and after searching through some old boxes realising that I don’t still have it (and even if I did, I definitely would not still have the wee red chord required to get it going). So I buy a new one, which arrived about a week back and…wow. As I said in the title, it does what it says it’ll do. I’ve been using it for barely five minutes a day, and perhaps it was because I’d just started getting RSI symptoms, I dunno, I’m not a medical professional, but even after that the pain in my hand, wrist and fingers is virtually gone. It does come back if there’s been a particularly work-heavy day, but considering everything, I wasn’t even expecting this much drastic improvement in such a short period of time, it’s great. Now we get to the negatives. Getting it started. Now I have a challenge, try to explain to someone how to get this thing going. Do you see the issue? It’s not that you can’t explain it, it’s just unless they try it themselves / already figure it out, you telling them doesn’t really help. It’s the whole riding a bike analogy. I was able to get it going after a decade since I last used one without any real trouble, but I do seem to be the exception. All that said, there IS a self-started model available, so if that’s a problem, you could always go for one of those.

It is really work!
First of all it is working! That is amazing. For rehabilitation after your broke your hand or other issue I think it is very good exercise. For those who need to have good hand grip and they make exercise I will prefer metal one because it is heavier. Personally i will buy metal Power Ball in future but I hope it will be little cheaper. My suggestion is use glove when exercise long because after 5 minutes exercise on my little finger it made a bladder and I did not even feel it until after a small piece of skin fell off. Nothing bad but it still better to use gloves. I made 13107 on Autostart Pro :)

Tricky to begin with. watch YouTube tube for various muscle exercises including biceps
Ok so it’s taken me quite a few attempts to get it going and writing this after 1st time I’ve got it going properly and wrists aching after under 2 mins which is good ! Harder with the left hand ( weakest and I’m right handed ) and the one I have pain in. It’s “ fights” you once it’s going and have to tighten grip or it’ll come out of your hand. There is a rubber type band around it so unless you sweat a lot should be fine. The counter shows the weight it’s gone up to but you have to be quick to see it as as soon as it runs down ie you stop moving it the display disappears. I think I got it to about 2.5 kgs but I am over 70 a woman and not fit 😳. Today I found that you start it with the cord and then use a whisking moment as though you are whisking into a bowl, so your hand is sideways on. Ie not directing down to the floor. I’ve got hopes for this as long as I 1 remember to do it and 2. Keep using for just the 5 mins each hand as suggested . 10 mins a day not much to ask is it 🫣 Update. Now been doing it for 2 days, wrists aching a bit, I’ve found it best to hold my forearm with opposite hand to get it going properly especially when using with left hand. I’ve also been trying to change directions whilst it’s going. Only been doing 2 minutes each hand so far. Another update on 21 May 2023. Still doing just 2 mins each arm most days. Makes muscle ache so doing something ! Got it up to approx 3.4kgs. Suggest you Watch YouTube for different muscle exercises.

Have hand problems? Work with your hands and find them sore and stiff more and more often? Then this might be a solution to the problem. I work with my hands, I use heavy, vibrating, hammer-action hand tools thirty/fourty times a day, after I started the job my hands started to become stiff and a little painful in the joints. I spoke to my collegues and everyone had varying degrees of the same problems. I had used a PowerBall years ago to good success for another injury and figured it couldn't make my issue worse and was worth a try. Six plus months later and the stiffness and soreness is held at bay and all it took was five to six minutes every evening or every second evening. That's it. I would recommend of of these for anybody with sore stiff hands...it can't hurt to try.

You do not struggle to start it, but it is not auto-starting though as the advert says. But runs well.
