Sleep with ease with Pro Breeze 500ml Dehumidifier
Due to the positive reviews on Amazon regarding this Pro Breeze 500ml dehumidifier, I decided to buy two of these, as I have a fairly large bedroom and wasn't sure what the effective range was. My bedroom is 15ft square by 12ft high - I live in a Grade 2 building which was built in 1889, hence the high ceiling and looking at my windows, you'd think it was raining inside, due to the heavy condensation. Received these this afternoon, and set them up at 4pm and six hours later, already both Pro Breeze's have filtered the air and has got a few millimetres of water in them already, Compared to the cheap non-electric ones I bought from a large grocery store that takes two weeks what this Pro Breeze has done in six hours. I have placed one of these dehumidifiers on either side of the room, so when I lie in bed later, I'll hear the very slight humming noise in stereo lol. In all seriousness, they are extremely quiet, that even with two running at the same time, won't impair your ability to fall asleep. I am very impressed with these, that I am considering buying a third but for my combined bathroom/toilet but I am a little apprehensive, due to the fact it may filter the water in my toilet, instead of out of the air. (I'll try one of the bedroom ones first in the bathroom/toilet to see what happens) I certainly would recommend this Pro Breeze 500ml dehumidifier - Small, effective and a great price :-) Update: November 1st, 2017. As stated above, the two I bought, I have in my bedroom and from reading specs from similar dehumidifiers of this size, these have an effective area of between 10-20sqm and as my bedroom is 15x15ft, that is just under 25sqm and hence why they are on both sides of my bedroom, for efficiency and not to overwork and overheat them. These dehumidifiers are very effective and for the first time, I can open my blinds and could see out of my windows and not the usual, heavy condensation on my windows. So, I've just ordered a third for use in my bathroom on a same-day delivery with Prime.

Good value but not suited to larger spaces
My bedroom gets fairly damp as there isn't much ventilation so I thought this product would help given its good reviews to date. The first thing you'll notice is that the product is really tiny, so it's nice and easy to fit into any sized space. It makes a constant noise, just like a small fan does. I find it okay to get to sleep with it turned on. It's certainly not loud enough to wake you up, so if you're worried about the noise, you could try using it with a timer, which costs about £10 on Amazon, then you can have it turn off automatically at the time you go to sleep. So far I have been collecting at least 80 ml a day which seems to be a reasonable amount. The condensation on my windows has reduced but I still get at least 50% as much condensation as before. The product spec says it can remove 250ml a day which seems a bit ambitious given I am getting about 1/3 of that yet the room is clearly still rather humid. The water container easily slides out and has a hole in the top to pour water away. Some other reviewers have had difficulty opening the container but you don't really need to ever open it for normal use. I was originally going to give this product a 3 star rating due to it removing less moisture than expected. However I have to respect that it is far cheaper than competitor products so I've given it 4 stars as it does provide good value for money. If you buy this product you can definitely expect a drop in humidity but do keep in mind that this is a budget product and probably isn't going to be as effective as some of the more expensive options. For a smaller space though I think it would be ideal.

Small, quiet and effective
Really good size as it doesn't take over the room. It's really quiet and you hardly notice it working but the results are clear. Lots of water collected. Excellent value for money.

Decent product, short lifespan
Works well at dehumidifying the room and easy to remove water once collected. Doesn’t take up too much space and is silent enough to be ignored if sleeping in the same room. It is easy enough to use, just plug in and switch on and it will do the rest of the work. Only downside being that the device gave up on me after 1 year of good use.

Warning: Fire Hazard.
I bought this at the end of November 2016 for our dining room as the kitchen adjoins it and we hoped it would reduce the condensation on the UPVC French windows overnight. We only use it in for some of the winter months and then it is cleaned up and stored in the cupboard under the stairs. So we only used it Nov, Dec, 2016 and Jan, Feb 2017 AND same 2017/18. We got it out the other day to put in into as the condensation is starting to build up....and I am pretty shocked quite frankly. Well shocked doesn't begin to describe it actually. We switch the unit on overnight - from about midnight to 6am - and then turn it off when we get up, and it's off for the rest of the day. Well that's what we did last year. However, the first night we put it I went to bed but two hours later came down for some water and I could smell burning immediately as I opened the living room door. Strong smell. Lights went on, walked through to back room (dining room) and could see smoke coming from the dehumidifier. I immediately yanked the plug out. You can see from the images that the plastic cover inside was burning and the on/of circuit board switch is totally burnt out and the wire burnt and detached. So my wife and I are left wondering what may have happened if I hadn't gone down for more water. I very rarely do! I cannot find a way of getting hold of the company that sold this to me through Amazon so I am posting this warning here. This is the Pro Breeze with the black power block sold by One Retail Group through Amazon. I looked through the reviews and have noticed someone else's caught fire as well. --update 28/11/2018 After scouring every review for this product, and the comments, I eventually found a contact email for someone at One Retail Group...so I used that address to report this issue. I was contacted within 48 hours by someone at One Retail Group and then offered a refund or replacement. I was initially set on a refund but instead asked for a replacement on the condition that they were sure that the products were safe now. A replacement product was promptly dispatched and I received it 48 hours later, so I took that to mean that they were absolutely sure it was safe now. For your information: the replacement looks EXACTLY the same as the first one, EXCEPT for one very important difference: it does NOT have a big black power block. Instead the unit has a power lead and that it plugs directly into the mains. So I am guessing that the absence of the big power block is pointing towards the power block being the issue. Indeed, on refection, I do recall touching the block once and it felt very hot. And, looking through the reviews here I can see a good number of photos of melted power blocks and reports of the block not working. It is important to me that I provide a fair and balanced review. On that basis, I will say that I am very pleased that this company - once I had uncovered a contact email for them - responded quickly and professionally to my email to report this problem. They dealt with the matter without any nonsense or hesitation, and the replacement product they sent out has been running for over 100 hours continuously and it isn't even warm: I chose to 'run it in' to make certain it was okay for my own peace of mind. It seems very clear that whatever problems the last 'version' had seem to have been eradicated in this version without the power block. My advice to anyone having any issues with this product is to contact the company directly. I contacted Ali Noori, the customer service contact using the email address ali@oneretailgroup.com. They were very professional and accommodating and resolved the matter without any fuss. As a note, I do not feel it would be appropriate for me to remove my original review given the nature of what occurred. However, I do think it is entirely proper and fair to let people know how One Retail Group dealt with this issue when I contacted them and to especially highlight their professional response and readiness to resolve the issue quickly and without fuss.

Lowers Humidity Whilst Drying Laundry
Father, being an extremely experienced electrical engineer recommended this de humidifier to me when he saw it on Amazon. Small, compact, one of the few I’ve seen of this size and low price with the Peltier technology in it, the others all floor standing units, huge and highly priced, hence why I’ve never had one. He told me that it is low voltage (3 amps) so shouldn’t cost much to run, and could even run off one of my extensions (provided I didn’t exceed the socket’s total power output of 13 amps here in the UK). I have had the de humidifier 12 days now. In the short time I have had it, it has done a good job. Since getting in the new fortress double glazed windows that don’t let anything heat wise through them, I have had the problem of drying my laundry in my medium sized lounge as the air humidity has gone rather high. I don’t tumble dry, costs too much on the electric living alone. First impressions? Really quiet, as shown in the short video I have posted. Really small and compact, only goes up to the first cross sections on my airer. The tank is clear so I can see how much water is in it, although I have always emptied it before the ‘full’ light has gone on. I left it between the airers over night, and during the first few hours when the room usually gets quite humid, I had no humidity whatsoever, just the nice smell of laundry detergent coming off them. So 100% improvement on that situation. I don't use it at other times as my rooms aren't generally humid as the house is fairly new. Very portable so I could use it in other rooms around my home, so I tried it in the bathroom after a long shower on an extension lead, leaving it near the entrance just behind the closed door. However, after three hours, the room felt even more humid than it did before I put the de humidifier in there. Sadly, this was the other reason I bought it for, so I won’t be able to use it for that and will have to resort to opening the window again making the room cold! I have used the de humidifier for about 9 laundry drying sessions, each about 12 hours long, and have collected more than a litre of water, as shown in the picture of the old tonic water bottle I washed out as these are easy to clean out to save the water in, as the rest of it I have used in my iron, as it is, in fact, an impure form of distilled water, suitable for situations like ironing (although I don’t recommend you use it for your car battery!). This means I am now going to have more water for ironing than I need so I don’t have to go to the local hardware store to buy it in bottles, as it’s better to use distilled water in irons than tap water that can really lime scale your iron’s small pipes up. In conclusion this is a great little unit for medium sized rooms where humidity is a little high and something is needed to extract the water. Free ironing water, low noise even when I’m sleeping at night, low power cheap to run, and the cord is detachable for easier storage. Even has a convenient groove in the back for carrying it with. Pictures : Back, front showing height next to airer, water collected in just 108 hours, Movie : Low sound whilst operating.

Effective, but hardly 'whisper quiet'.
I bought this to dehumidify my bedroom, which feels far warmer than it is due to humidity, leading to uncomfortable nights' sleep and that feeling that you can't get properly dry after a shower, for example. I plugged it in in the late afternoon, and it certainly made a difference. Although, I would say (like other reviewers) that it takes some time to actually start doing its job. This is because of the way Peltier effect works, and means it should be left on to work effectively. There's a pretty large heatsink of what looks like machined aluminium inside the machine, finned to provide surface area, and the Peltier device needs to bring the temperature of this heatsink down to well below ambient temperature for moisture to start condensing on it. After about 6 hours it started condensation, and the first few drops dribbled down into the reservoir. Over the next 6 hours, it produced a good amount of water, and the air in the room feels appreciably drier and more comfortable. I expect it would have no trouble extracting the claimed 500ml/day, depending on conditions (it can't get water out of the air if the air's already pretty dry!). Ambient temperature is also a factor. So, it does what it says, in a pretty small form factor. The only issue I have is that it is described as 'ultra-quiet' and 'whisper quiet'. If you want something unnoticeable, then this isn't for you. However, I often have a fan and/or air filter going anyway, so don't need total quiet to sleep. It's about the volume of a blow heater, or a desk fan on medium - there's a gentle whooshing, with little mechanical noise from the internal fan. Having had a brief look as much as I can, it seems to be the type of fan you can buy for computer cases, and I'm sure that it wouldn't be difficult to replace the (doubtlessly cheap) fan with one expressly built to be very quiet. All in all, a good buy, but if using in a bedroom be aware that it does make more noise than you might hope. Nothing too disturbing, though.

Good price for a good humidifier
Not bad for the price. You will need to go bigger and pay more if you need a quicker result or alot of moisture in your camper van. But overall... happy.

fonctionnel
C'est déjà le deuxième que j’achète. Techno simple et fiable (module Peltier) fonctionnement assez silencieux...Le seul Hic est que j'aurai souhaité une prise secteur de "chez nous" et pas une britanique !

Small, quiet and efficient!
I am quite impressed - it's a small, light machine - since I have plugged it in 1hr ago already collected quite some moisture! I have a 1bedroom flat and I think it will be enough. For better efficiency- I close the room where it's working. It's quiet in my opinion - good quality built. It is dramatically missing a handle or a way to easily grab it. I definitely recommend it.
