At the Old Haunted House

A wonderful way to entertain and teach counting to preschoolers. I especially love the colorful illustrations. There are so many things to talk about on each page. This book is delightful!

Really cute story written to the cadence of “Over In The Meadow” so you can sing it or chant it. Rhyming words are pretty good and the pictures are great. My kids love this book. We read it over and over.

My son LOVES this book. It's a great way to incorporate counting at a higher reading level. This book would be great at increasing reading fluency.

Our 4 year old has a short attention span. This book he loves! The illustrations are fantastic! The story itself is wonderful with a counting theme. He likes to make all the scary noises, but he is not afraid of the characters. I bought the hardcover which comes with a dust jacket to help protect the book. The pages are nice and sturdy and no issues with the binding. I bought this book for Halloween, but it is definitely a year round book. And in case you couldn't tell...I love it too!

Nice cadence and rhythm for a read aloud. Nice artwork, beautifully bound, okay story. Good ages 2-5. Not as big a winner as Room on the Broom, but a okay Halloween work. Sound purchase

I bought this book for our 3 year old after he’s been into Halloween cartoons and toddler appropriate “spooky” things more this year. We read to him every night before bed, so I wanted something cute for Halloween but not “scary” and was age appropriate. This checked all the boxes! He’s asked for it every night this week :) very cute!

I love that this is written in rhyme and follows the pattern of the vintage classic counting poem, “Over in the Meadow”. The illustrations aren’t overly scary and my 4 and 2 years old grandkids enjoy it.
