There is a small hole at the back which has a reset button inside. Press it with something like a paper clip.

Yes it can measure room temperature too. Its not very fast and will take about 20 seconds.

can this be used for fridge , freezer and water temperatures

Hi there. I have not tried to temperatures below cero. However, the specifications says that would work within -49.9 to 149.9 celciuos. Hope this information is helpful. Cheers. C

If you mean can you use it to test temperature of frying oil, I wouldn't recommend doing that. However you can test the items removed from such frying to ensure the inside of food ha reached the required temperature.
