I kept this item for a few months before I made a review, so I could make an accurate one, after using this product on a couple of different carpets around the house. I first bought this item when I moved into a rented property, and knocked 2 cups of tea onto the light grey carpet. It sounds like I was being an absolute lazy slob, but it was the only thing that I could consume for two days because I had a migraine that kept me off of my feet for days and I didn’t have the energy or disposition to clean it up, then and there. When the fog lifted, I panicked and I bought several types of carpet cleaner. I scrubbed the floor for 30 minutes at a time for days. Nothing was shifting. I was really panicking. The Dr. Beckmann Carpet Stain Remover was the last thing that I tried. I’ll admit, because it was so reasonably priced I didn’t think that it would make a difference. I have been absolutely blown away by how good this item is. Not only did it remove the tea stains, which are so difficult to remove, but it has removed Sriracha, curry, and red wine - all which occurred during a party. Yes, guests are an absolute pain sometimes, but this stuff is the panacea. When I tell you that I don’t even worry anymore when I spill something on the carpet or on the sofa, I’m not kidding. I wish I was being paid by this company because I would make the best spokesperson. I am in love with this item. It removes everything. If I can just give anyone that’s thinking of buying this item a tip, because I found the instructions not very useful: the instructions tell you to leave it and then wipe it off with a damp cloth - DONT. Leave it. Especially if it’s a very deeply ingrained stain. The trick is to not soak the carpet. Give the bottle a gentle squeeze and then scrub the brush into the carpet. Then leave it to dry on its own and the stain will disappear completely. I’ve used this stain remover on a light grey carpet, on a light blue eggshell carpet, I’ve used it on a brand-new light green sofa - I have never seen any discolouration from leaving it to dry naturally. It works much better if you leave it overnight. You could also do a second application on stains that are deeply ingrained into carpets; as I had to do with my tea stain. Third time was the charm and you can’t even tell that that carpet had any tea spilled onto it. It dries very quickly, it leaves a lovely scent , and it does not make the carpet hard or crusty after application, it’s very soft. So if you’re in a pickle and you’ve messed up your own or somebody else’s carpet, grab yourself a bottle of this. 10/10. Wouldn’t buy anything else.

This is been one of the best investments we made few months ago and haven’t looked at any other brand since. It truly is a game changer for every house especially the house with children like ours. PROs! 1 - 650 ml bottle with a builtin 2 in 1 applicator (sponge & bristles) to scrub into carpet fibers deeply. 2 - Oxygen-based formula, which helps to remove both stains and to neutrilise odours. 3 -Designed for a wide variety of household stains: red wine, coffee, mud/dirt, make-up, grease, juice, etc. 4 - Gets to work really quickly like in 3/4 minutes. 5 - Safe for many carpet types, including wool, synthetic, and mixed fibres. 6 - Free from chlorine, bleach and many other harmful chemicals especailly for households with children and pets. 7 - Dries relatively quickly; doesn’t leave carpets super soggy. CONs! 1 - Application seal design could be better, piercing the membrane under the applicator is a bit fiddly. 2 - Potential of over or under application depending on the whole size. If the hole is too big, the liquid pours out too fast and vice versa. 3 - While the product claims to be colour safe, you do need to test for colourfastness first. Although, we didn’t have any issues but it can adversely affect your rugs/carpets and even their fibres. 4 - There is a good chance that the sponge or bristles on the applicator brush wear down over time after repeated use. HOW TO GET THE BEST OUT OF YOUR CARPET STAIN REMOVER:). * - Before first use, remove the brush head and pierce a 2mm hole in the seal under it, then reattach. * - Do not soak the carpet: apply lightly via the brush, leave for 3 minutes, then dab up residue with a damp cloth. * - Rinse the brush thoroughly after each use for longevity.

Dr. Beckmann's Carpet Stain Remover comes with a brush, which is great because my fingers have basically retired and are permanently sleeping on the job. So I had to invest in a "Vikan" brush with a handle and bristles that actually have some backbone. In the battle of who's less effective, it's basically a tie between Beckmann's brush and my fingers! My autistic son is the sole stain remover around here. We've got our division of labour sorted: he's the executive stain eliminator, and I'm the artist who creates them. But he's constantly out running my errands, which means stains pile up. I had this brilliant idea to handle my own messes while he was gone. A few months back, Vikan was purchased, ready to "help out". I am a "Zimmer girl", Nick, warned me it was risky to do heavy scrubbing. Turns out he was onto something—I had a rough day. 'Mr. Germophobic", only touches "Dr. Beckmann" with gloves, a mask, and "special clothes". Not exactly a rapid response unit. Years ago, I was in a cinema in Hereford when a call sign got announced over the tannoy—the room cleared out. My son would've shown up after the peace treaty was signed! As for Dr. Beckmann's cleaner itself, it's the real deal. Gets into the carpet fibres, handles the tough stains, and even deals with those little accidents. It's a gentle tool. My son uses both the Vikan brush and the one that came with it, he's happy. I can see the stain removal works, and the carpets are still intact. If you want to go "all in", mix up a custom blend with "Hexeal" or "Miniml" vinegar, Zoflora Concentrated Disinfectant, Dettol Disinfectant Liquid, and Comfort Botanical in a 750ml spray bottle, then spray it on clothes, carpets, or basically most things. In a house touched by germophobia, this kind of setup creates an environment of maximum freshness and cleanliness. Actually, having a germaphobe in the house is a win.

Good carpet cleaner, works very well on removing stains. However the bottle is a very poor design, yes the integrated brush is a great idea however it is poorly designed. The brush faces downwards and as you scrub the stain more and more liquid comes out. You end up using way too much liquid than you intended due to the design of the brush. A simple fix would be to angle the brush so as to liquid would only come out if the bottle is squeezed. This would allow for much better control of liquid and a better user experience. However they will likely never implement this as the more liquid you use the more bottles you will need to buy! What i have now done is i use 1 bottle to dispense the liquid to the amount i need and i also carry an empty bottle and use that brush head to scrub!

I've tried quite a few carpet cleaners over the years but this one from Dr Beckmann is by far the best one yet. It does exactly what the description says it will do and the stains on the carpet lift within minutes without the need of endless scrubbing. It also doesn't feel like I am giving my carpet a bubble bath, there is not that much foam when scrubbing yet it cleans it very well. What really sets it apart for me is the brush with its durability and effectiveness. With other cleaners that I have used in the past the brush heads used to always leave bits of fluff and fur over the stains I was trying to clean making my situation worse than it already was and the cleaning up process that much longer. This one does not do any of that it is sturdy and easy to handle and makes the whole process much neater. Overall I am really impressed with this, it works quickly, smells great and leaves my carpets looking and feeling fresh. I would definitely recommend this as this is the one I will be sticking with from now on!
