Until recently, 25-year-old Barry Allen lived a normal life as a perpetually tardy forensic scientist in the Central City Police department. Barry is deeply in love with his best friend, Iris West, daughter of Barry's surrogate father, Detective Joe West, who adopted Barry 14 years ago after Barry's mother was murdered and his father, Henry Allen, received a life sentence for the crime -- though Barry maintains that a mysterious "Man in Yellow" was responsible. Nine months ago, the S.T.A.R. Labs Particle Accelerator exploded, creating a dark matter lightning storm that struck Barry -- bestowing him with super-speed and making him the fastest man alive. But Barry wasn't the only person who was given extraordinary abilities that night. The dark matter also created meta-humans -- many of whom have wreaked havoc on the city. With the help of his new scientist friends at S.T.A.R Labs, Caitlin Snow, Cisco Ramon and Dr. Harrison Wells, Barry begins a journey as The Flash to protect the people of Central City from these powerful new threats. However, Barry's mission gets sidetracked when he comes face to face with the Man in Yellow aka The Reverse Flash. Although Barry isn't fast enough to catch him, the team figures out in a shocking revelation that their beloved mentor, Harrison Wells, is in fact the Man in Yellow and the man responsible for killing Barry's mother. Revealing his true identity as Eobard Thawne, a man from the future who traveled back in time to kill Barry, Wells presents Barry with a life-altering choice. When Barry is finally forced to confront Wells, will he be fast enough to catch him? Or will Wells be successful in killing Barry and returning home to the future? Review: Bigger, Bolder, and Packed with Heart – A Fantastic Follow-Up - After a strong first season, The Flash: Season 2 raises the stakes with a story that’s faster, darker, and even more emotional. This season dives deeper into Barry Allen’s role as the Scarlet Speedster, exploring not just his powers, but also the personal cost of being a hero. The main arc introduces Zoom, one of the most menacing villains the show has ever seen. The mystery surrounding him keeps the tension high, and his connection to the multiverse opens the door to exciting new possibilities. The exploration of Earth-2 is a real highlight—seeing alternate versions of favourite characters adds both fun and depth to the story. The emotional weight is also strong this season. Barry’s struggles with loss, responsibility, and trust make him more human and relatable, while the bonds with Joe, Caitlin, Cisco, and Iris feel more developed and heartfelt. Grant Gustin continues to shine as Barry, balancing humour, vulnerability, and determination, while Tom Cavanagh once again proves why he’s one of the show’s biggest assets with another layered performance. Action-wise, Season 2 delivers plenty of thrilling speedster battles, inventive uses of Barry’s abilities, and big spectacle moments that rival blockbuster films. But what sets it apart is the heart at the core of the show—it’s still about family, friendship, and hope, even when the odds look impossible. What’s in the Box: Complete Season 2 on DVD (or Blu-ray), with all episodes spread across multiple discs. Bonus features typically include gag reels, deleted scenes, and behind-the-scenes featurettes. If you enjoyed Season 1, this is an absolute must-watch. The Flash: Season 2 manages to expand its universe, raise the stakes, and still keep the warmth and humour that made the first season so beloved. A fantastic continuation that cements The Flash as one of the best superhero shows on TV. Review: Epic! - Having enjoyed season 1, I was excited for The Flash season 2. I felt the season was stronger overall and not just because there weren’t multiple episodes featuring a giant talking gorilla (only one, to be precise). The characters – all of them – developed as they faced darker challenges than any they had faced before. After saving his mother, Barry opens up a rift between worlds and discovers a speedster called Zoom terrorising another Earth. Discovering they each have a doppelganger on this second Earth reawakens old feelings – Harrison Wells is alive and well, and has absolutely nothing to do with Barry’s past. The true fight comes in the form of the metahumans that Zoom sends through the breach to kill Barry. Then Zoom himself. Barry develops as a character as he becomes more grounded in what it is he needs to do. It is the other characters, however, that are really given the chance to grow. Cisco embraces powers of his own and Kaitlyn discovers what she is capable of in the face of devastating loss time and time again. Joe is given the chance to be a true father and Iris becomes a true part of the team despite her own loss. The progression of the characters was required in order for the season to get darker. The threats are more real this time around, partly because the characters must all face their own demons if they are going to be the heroes they believe they are. There were a few episodes that involved the Arrow team. Considering I love Arrow, this made me excited. I did find, however, that it contained spoilers. Not having yet seen the final series of Arrow (released around the same time as Flash), meant there were a few things given away. The pace felt faster this time, although that could be because we didn’t need as much backstory worked into the episodes as series 1. With a clear villain from the start – Zoom – the audience were given the chance to hate him, whereas the uncertainty about the man in yellow in season 1 denied us that opportunity. Stronger characters, darker plots and tension running high as relationships developed. The Flash season 2 was a rollercoaster – and a good one at that!

A great ensemble piece
The DC comics universe release dates need working on. I watched Supergirl when it released and therefore got a view of what happens in the Flash. Not a big deal, but kind of spoiled events. I used to like Arrow, but after season 2 it's looking a bit tired. The Flash is my new benchmark. It's humorous, it has a big heart and as much superhero action as you could want in 42 minutes. The season 1 set a high benchmark, this season mostly matches it, but there are consistency issues. Where season 1 had little in the way of filler the need to bring in Legends of Tomorrow and Arrow made the season drag in parts. The downbeat start is a good beginning looking at the fallout from the season 1 finale. Last time is was a villain of the week formula, now they've inherited the Arrow's big bad with Zoom. Not sure if I'm overjoyed with this as the one off villains give greater variety of challenges. So glad Harrison Wells returns, Tom Cavanagh is just great without being a bowling alley lawyer. But it's not a one man show and the whole cast got moments to shine. Really this is the direction the DC TV universe needs to be looking for its future.

Good, Entertaining FUN superhero show
I enjoyed this season of the Flash. It was perhaps not as good as the 1st year, but was definately better than sister show Arrow is at the present time. I hope that they can get away from the idea of Barry having to fight a speedster as his main foe each season, we need more mirror master for a start, and perhaps captain boomerang as well, but the tone is still good, with serious moments embedded in a lighter framework. The character work is very good and the supporting cast are still entertaining. Overall i think if you liked the 1st season then you will like this. I can't wait for Season 3 to arrive on disc now

Great Again, One Villain is a small problem
I loved series 1 and 2 takes it a step further, the characters are all great and the story lines engaging. I think the DC TV series' are starting to suffer from lone villain syndrome, by which I mean that there may be distractions but the whole 22 episode series (minus the crossover episode) is focussed around only one villain (Zoom) and at times (especially around episode 15-18) the story can feel a little protracted. In my eyes this series is much better than Arrow Season 4 and marginally better than Flash Season 1. Not as good as Arrow Season 2 though (still the best in the DC TV Multiverse).

Wasn't at all disappointed
Great end to a great series, just a bit sad that there won't be anoher, or for that matter a spin off.

Loved season one - didn't love season two so much.
Watched season one and loved it. Loved it so much I binge watched it six times while waiting for season two to be released in September. Bought season two and … well, I didn't hate it but I also didn't like it anywhere near as much as I thought I would having been such a big fan of season one. Compared to season one's Reverse Flash (a.k.a. The Man In Yellow), Zoom (the villain of season two) was a bit rubbish. Thankfully in season two Harrison Wells is back (you'll need to watch it to find out how) so not all is lost. So a bit of a disappointment but I'm hoping that season 3 and Flashpoint will be worth waiting for.

Digital download code has issue
The series is very good but the digital download code that was in my box was meant to be redeemed in the UK, not in the US. I contacted the manufacturer and they sent me a new code that was meant for the UK again. Tried several times to redeem the code but was forced to give up on that. If the item's description mentioned that the digital download code was only meant to be redeemed for UK viewers, I wouldn't have purchased.

Poor customer service
There was no evident information stating that this item needed a special out of country dvd player. There is not information regarding this on the case. The seller would not let me return the item for a refund because the shrink wrap had been removed. Not very happy with customer service or lack of information.
