A great drill and not too heavy.
Better than more expensive drills and lighter. Not high speed but with a good drill bit it's like a knife through butter!

Bish Bash Bosch and the job is done in half the time
Excellent bit of kit . Complete with its own storage box . Easy to use and with the tool which I also purchased at the time , it made light work of getting the floor tiles up . It's right what they say . You need the right tools to do the job . This was so easy and made , the age of a hammer and bolster seem like a bygone time . The item is a good piece of kit for home use and saves you an age in "tool time " Well made and a fair price for a time saver .

It's a good drill to have round the house
It's better than a cordless drill when drilling hard to do thinks

Standard drill bits won't fit without an adapter
Great drill but only takes SMS drill bits which are more expensive or buy an adapter for £15 but then it's bulky and heavy at the point you need to see so it's awkward for lighter jobs. Overall a very capable bit of kit for the price

Bosch PBH 2100 RE is an excellent home tool
Great rotary hammer for home use. Powerful enough for concrete and brick, lightweight, and comes in a handy case. Very good choice for DIY.

Its really Good , what more could you want .
Type of use Advanced DIY . Used on rotary / hammer with a 20mm core bit for pipes and on hammer only action to chase out cement for repointing , this drill made it ALL easy, absolutely no problem , of course removing old mortar you have to learn best practise with the drill and which way is most effective. That just took couple of minutes . Previously I was struggling with repointing with hammer/ chisel because of hard mortar , this drill made job trouble free and lot less ( 50 % at least ) work. Drill performance Well built , powerful , versatile , didn't jam in bricks , doesn't get hot when used continuously or enthusiastically . Conclusion I paid more for the Bosch name on the tool ( though I know it was made in the far east ) because I hoped the maker would ensure quality in the product . Good decision . Yes , I would recommend drill . well worth the money .

Great item but Amazon Exceptionally expensive
I love the drill but have some issues with Amazon, read on.I have used one of these (belonging to my son) for several weeks now. It is a solid and very easy to use piece of equipment. Robust and pretty well made, certainly much better that all the easten rubbish about in this day and age. An SDS converter attaches easily and allows ordinary drill bits to be used so no need to restock all those bits you already have. The drill, particularily for a fairly powerful SDS type is quite compact. The weight is nice and the feel of the drill is comfortable. Being an SDS also elliminates the need for a chuck key as the SDS drill bits just insert and a simple twist holds all in lpace. A word of advice / warning. Keep this well lubricated or a drill bit will either not be able to be engaged or as an alternate will be all but not capable of removal. PRICE, Being £85.95 I accepted the price on face value as being fairly average, I took the lazy route (being a member of the Prime delivery service with Amazon) and ordered without pricing elsewhere. Whoops, bad idea. The Prime next day before 1pm was not met. I have noticed that Amazon prices have been getting less compeditive and customer service standards falling. I belatedly typed the model number in a search engine to discover this drill not just cheaper elsewhere but massively cheaper in some cases. (£49.99 at homebase at all places, reserved through cashback site plus nectar points takes another £7.00 off) The moto, check out the prices elsewhere. Amazon are charging me for the return postage as it is being returned in the cheaper, elsewhere circumstances. The price difference is so huge it would be silly not to do so. If they offered a pricematch, I would not return.

I trust this was a one off...
I bought this drill, having read reviews for a number of SDS drills, for a specific job - getting kitchen floor tiles (and the adhesive)off a concrete floor. It was very good and did the job very well but I noticed it got quite hot quite quickly and so let it cool down every few minutes (which slowed down the job). Then, about 5 minutes into the task the next day, there was a "pop" and the thing burned out. We had to go to the local DIY store where they had a special offer on a higher wattage one - just £30! We finished the job with that. In the past, our Bosch tools have been very good and so I have given this a 3 because I don't suppose this particular tool is typical and Amazon were brilliant - the return process on the defective drill could not have been simpler. So, my mark for the drill while it was working is 5. Mark for Amazon return system is 5 but the mark for this specific drill is 1! I don't want a good tool to be marked down because of a defective example. Maybe the manufacturing should go back to Germany rather than China! My only comment would be that, for taking up floor tiles, the more powerful one we bought to replace this was better and so, if buying an SDS drill in the future, I would always go for a 900+ Watt rather than a 550W like this. For household drilling jobs like drilling the odd hole into masonry etc., this one is fine though.

Absolutely amazing sds hammer drill
After a lot of research and reading online reviews, I finalized on this Bosch sds drill as I needed one to build garage shelves on a brick wall. I own a Bosch 750W universal impact hammer drill and I did not have a pleasant experience with it when drilling through the Victorian bricks which are as hard as stone. After finally getting my hands on this sds drill, I gave it a go on one of the spare bricks lying in my backyard, and I was in for a pleasant surprise. This drill is totally bang for the buck. It drilled through the brick effortlessly like a hot knife through butter. I was able to drill a 5cm deep hole using an 8mm sds drill from Bosch in like under 15 secs. Wish I had bought this drill before I purchased the universal impact drill, which is a good drill on its own, but nothing compared to this beast. Without any doubts I would highly recommend this sds drill.

No clear instruction how to install the drill bit
the user manual is poorly written and no instruction how to install regular drill bit and no mention of adapter to insert regular bits
