Complete Electronics Self-Teaching Guide with Projects

Excellent book, covers all the basics in a well explained yet simple manner. As a newbie to electronics I found this invaluable and still do as a reference text.

Details text (USA) and related projects (exercises) - Nice, steady intro, this has a question and answer format throughout - Components required for the projects not included, required much research to locate sources. - Pity those components were not included with the course, I would have paid the extra.

This is a very clear and accessible introduction to electronics. Topics are introduced with just enough information to understand key principles, and without the need to understand complex mathematics. Some more theoretical sections are included but with good visual depictions, such as the workings of semi-conductors. Worked examples help to build understanding and the self-tests at the end of each chapter helpfully refer the reader back to where the principle was introduced when an incorrect answer has been derived. For those with test equipment, a variety of practical projects are included, but it is not strictly necessary to do these.

This book is great if you are learning electronics, and provides a methodical approach to teaching and testing everything I needed. The only complaint I have is the quality of the paper is very poor, but the content is brilliantly put together.

As a mature student on a part time engineering course, I've found this book invaluable in helping me understand the intricacies of electronics and it only arrived this morning! I'm sure time goes on it will prove an essential part of my library.

just what the complete beginner needs; need to know about electronics IE ohms law and alike. if you struggle with it read electronics for Dummies, then all will become clearer. but yes an excellent book.

very simple level 1 and 2 at maximum. Not too many complicated examples in it. Just a simple electronics covered by the author.

Un libro para empezar desde los más básico, muy bien hecho, contiene algo de teoría, ejercicios, PROYECTOS MUY BIEN DETALLADOS!!!, y es bastante light en su contenido lo que lo hace fácil de seguir. Comparado con otros libros de auto aprendizaje me parece que la línea de la guía está muy bien planteada.

It is a good book to read and learn about electronics.

Livre indispensable pour s'initier à l'électronique ; il y a un rappel des bases que chacun pourra approfondir par ailleurs au besoin facilement, et ensuite chaque domaine est abordé de façon très pédagogique, avec le souci de garder des mathématiques simples, et en fin de chapitre des petits labs proposés pour que la pratique rejoigne la théorie. Il faut néanmoins s'équiper au minimum d'un multimètre, d'un oscilloscope et générateur d'onde (on en trouve d'abordable chez Amazon qui font les trois, par ex Hantek). Par contre il aurait utile de faire une page récapitulant tous les composants utilisés pour les lab - et ainsi faire une commande groupée pour ne payer les frais de livraison éventuelles qu'une fois. Bref, un très bon point de départ pour découvrir le monde de l'électronique et ses principes de base.

The book is well organized and explains concepts very carefully. You will do some calculating so keep the calculator handy..
