Great set but some limitations
Love these bottles and so does our daycare. The nipple shape seems compatible with breast feeding too (as in my baby easily switches back n forth). I worry some about not being able to clean the vents easily (I tore them up on one nipple by trying to use a tiny brush & it tore the material). Other downside is, if you need more lids, you have to buy another kit because they don't just sell the lids. (And in Ohio the law says they have to have lids while in the fridge at daycare.) I also like the other lids/rim set better than this one for durability reasons. I haven't broke the flip top lids yet, but they are sort of flimsy feeling plastic and I question whether they will make it to my next kid. But the metal rings, those are super durable and easily replaced. Update: yup. The plastic rings with lids attached are junky. The plastic on the hinge area was easily strained/messed up. Now one of my lids won't actually close and therefore that bottle leaks, I have to tape the lid down or hand carry that bottle to daycare (and who has hands for that?!?). The lids are also appear to be a fun thing for my baby to play with, which would be fine if she was still drinking from the bottle while she plays with the lid, but she doesn't. Still in love with using the traditional metal rings with these nipples and my lid that goes with the metal rings is still holding up great!

Love these!
I started out with the Dr Brown's anti-colic plastic bottle. But they consistently leaked around the lid and had to be adjusted part way into the feeding every time. Plus the tip was to narrow so my baby kept getting his hands in the way and milk kept sputtering out of my baby's mouth. It was an absolute mess every time! I was also getting tired of washing them, and wasn't a fan of the discoloration. I looked around for several glass bottle options, and this was the most cost effective option. I love these bottles! Pros: -Easy to clean: glass jars I just throw in the dishwasher. I do hand wash the nipple and ring though. -Cost effective: have a dozen bottles for under $10 (mason jars I bought from walmart as they're cheaper than Amazon.) -Clean feeding: his little hands don't get in the way because the nipple is larger. Much cleaner to feed from. Cons: -the plastic ring doesn't seal as well as the metal rings. I normally use the metal rings. -need to dry the metal ring right away to keep from rusting.

Not as great as you think they’d be.
I really really wanted to love these bottles, especially after reading really good reviews. But I’ve come to realize, it’s a hit or miss as far as quality. After our baby was prescribed formula, we knew this was the bottle we wanted! We bought two kits and were gifted one through our registry. My first dislike was that the $9 sleeves have inaccurate measurement markers. On our 4oz bottles the sleeve measured 2oz, while our scale measured 1.06oz. Inaccurate measurements are super dangerous for formula babies!! (Didn’t bother checking our 8oz sleeves) After speaking with a Mason Bottle rep, they acknowledged the inaccuracies of the sleeves and said they are working on a new sleeve to correct these mistakes. And I, as the consumer, wasted money on a product that does not serve it’s purpose properly. Second and probably my biggest complaint*** After a couple of uses, we realized that the Slow Flow had NO FLOW! Our baby was barely getting drops out and was working himself to sleep. As soon as we switch to Tommee Tippee, problem resolved. No more fussiness or over working for milk. I didn’t want to give up on these bottles so we tried stretching the hole just a bit but still nothing. It was so hard for our baby to get milk from the Mason Bottle Nipples. Only 2 of the 6 nipples gave a flow. We also experienced leakage from the heart valves on the nipples. Overall: These products are too expensive for them to arrive defective. I also didn’t like even though there’s a guarantee on these bottles, customer service doesn’t present you options to make the situation right. They just acknowledge the malfunctions/ defects and leave you up sh*t creek without a paddle. I was tempted to try the 3m flow nipples but I’m just so disappointed in these and the company; that I’d rather just stick with what’s working for us Tommee Tippee.

A great introduction to a fantastic bottle system!
My husband and I have been using the Mason Bottle system for about a month now. We started with this kit and already had some 4oz jars on hand. This system is fantastic. Things we love: • Easy to wash/sanitize the glass jar/bottles. I feel like the glass gets cleaner and doesn’t hold on to milk or soap residue like plastic would. • Makes use of glass jars we already had—will continue to use for various things past the bottle phase. • Less plastics touching baby’s food (fewer micro-plastics being ingested by baby). • Baby has taken well to the breast-like slow flow (0-3) nipple. So far so good! • Already invested in a set of glass 8oz. jar/bottles, additional nipples, lids, etc. The only thing I can complain about is the silicone sleeves kind of shrunk in the dishwasher, making the measurement inaccurate. However, I think this is more due to human error (So I won’t be taking off a star). We have a desktop dishwasher and don’t really have a top rack, so I imagine it simply got too close to the heating element. Even the glass jars we bought to expand the system were off a bit. In general, I would use a measuring cup to measure liquid if accurate amounts (such as for making formula) are critical.

Needs more careful packaging for glass baby products
Product was great, however it came with one of the glass bottles completely in pieces, with broken glass everywhere inside the box. Poor and insufficient packaging with no fragile label.

Bad threading for lid- makes a mess :(
Hoping it's just our set, but the cap/silver plastic threaded ring that attaches the nipple leaks EVERY TIME. It is impossible to get a good seal on the first try so, these bottles make a mess while trying to prepare. Think it's probably a threading error, but it's harder than it should be considering how long Mason jars have existed... Wouldn't recommend to others due to this flaw, but these are otherwise great bottles. Easy to read and measure, great nipples and flow, super easy to wash.

love the mason jars but the plastic rings leaked for us.
We are happy with our decision to use mason jar bottles, the plastic rings leak for us so we don't use them, the metal rings work great! We just have to make sure to hand wash and dry so they don't rust. These bottles don't make our baby gassy or have colic as long as we are vigilant with burping and making sure the nipple is always full of milk while she is sucking. I would have preferred to get more nipple covers that snap to the metal lids instead of the plastic rings and lids that leak.

Would not buy again.
Lids do not fit right on the bottles so they leak. Not worth the money.
