The TR features more power in the bottom half of the rod to generate greater line speed and help those with a more powerful compact stroke. Rod with lots of backbone! A pleasure to cast those thick skagit heads.

Heavy/Clunky but solid shooter.
Having an Echo tr2 6126 and a Redington Chromer 7126, both with the same skagit grain recommendations, the Echo is substantially more exhausting. Flex profile are darn close, but the extra 2oz of rod is strongly felt in the butt section adding discomfort and unneeded rigidity for a 6wt. That being said it still shoots line lovely, with a little more advanced profile of caster as the stiffness will make you keen on timing.I’d say for the $300 on the TR2 you’d be better off spending an extra $100 on the Chromer. Still love and own many Echo rods but the TR2 is just too clunky and for multiple outings or longer than 2hr trips you’ll feel the weight difference.
