does this 9.oah mean simply a longer running time than the 6 or 3 .oah and does this battery work with all flex volt tools such as the 60 volt grinder

three 20 volt batteries in series would have 60 volts; in parallel they would have only 20 volts.  But if in parallel, you should get more amp hours (plus possibly some wasted energy as no 2 batteries are exactly the same in internal resistance; thus the strongest would discharge internally through the weakest unless they block that with diodes, which in turn should cause a little voltage loss. Theoretically it may be a bad idea to put batteries in parallel, but practically it may make little problem.

Will this work for the dcd771c2?

Actually the flex volt batteries WILL work with the 1820 adapters. You just have to trim off the two small ears on the adapter that prevent the flex volt battery from sliding all the way in. Did that quickly and easily with a cutting wheel on my angle grinder.

What does it mean by 9ah?

Dewalt flexvolt batteries can be used with either Dewalt 20V or 60V Max tools,  The 9Ah battery (20V tools) has triple the capacity as a 3Ah battery.  This battery is a 3Ah battery when used with 60V Dewalt Max tools. Hope this helps.

I have a flex volt 20/60 at 9 ah. it came with my dewalt weed trimmer. on low, i get about 1/2 hour work time. led display...doesn't. normal?

On LOW. What do you get for run time on HIGH?  And MEDIUM?  Maybe it switches to 20v on LOW So that would be 20v x 9ah = 180wh And that time that sounds about right... I know with my MW trimmer I get 30 to 40 mins with a 9ah, so you have to hurry if you only have one battery and alot of cutting... It may not seem like it should but the tablesaw gets alot more time from a 9ahbattery than a weedwacker does. Maybe someone can explain that!
