I put it through a stud, and mounted my monitor. I've put it on a few monitors with VESA mounts, and they all work. It comes with a selection of screws and spacers to make it easier to mount different monitors. It tilts, and swivels, and stays in place. It's well thought out overall. Mount a piece to the wall, Mount a piece to the monitor, hang the monitor on the wall, tighten the screw. Good buy. It hangs pretty close to the wall. Any closer and I wouldnt be able to tilt the monitor on the stud. I'm still thinking I could have gotten away with hanging it on the drywall.

This simple unit has all of the features of the larger units, but without huge apparatus behind the TV. It is well made, heavy duty, works well BUT it MUST be stud mounted! Even though it is smaller, it cannot be mounted on drywall alone. Other than that, which is expected, it is perfect for what I needed. It is meant for TV's smaller than about 35"
