Reliable output across a wide range of input voltages
I needed this cable to connect USB equipment to a benchtop power supply in a lab. It was to charge a device at ~5V that has no internal current limiting and could draw up to 3A which I needed to limit to 500mA for safety purposes. I set the benchtop supply output to 12V @ 500mA and this cable's integrated regulator was delivering 4.47V at 500mA to the device which was good enough for safe charging. Because the supply was operating in a current limited mode, the effective voltage delivered to this cable's internal regulator was effectively ~6V but it could still regulate just fine. Very impressive! In fact it could deliver stable output with the source voltage as low as 7V. That's a pretty good operating range. The build quality overall is great. It's durable, rugged, and having the built in fuse is great. It also comes with a spare fuse too. Nothing about it seems flimsy or cheap.

Easy to install, excellent charging speed. Love it.
Really happy with this little unit so far. Installed it on my 2017 Honda Grom, and other than taking off the bike plastics, installation was a breeze. The wiring harness is long enough for my little bike, and I assume it would do the job even on a bigger bike. This little guy charges quickly - yesterday I was able to charge up 16% in a 13 minute ride, and that was with the phone tracking my ride using its GPS. The connection to the USB port feels sturdy - it's a tight fit which is nice. The waterproof cover is a great thing, and slides on and off easily enough. I'm happy with the build quality so far, and time will tell how well the joins hold up. One notable item is that, because the harness is wired directly to the battery this unit draws power 24/7 and regardless of whether anything is plugged in to the USB port. The draw is very small, but it's conceivable that you could drain your battery if you either charge your phone while the engine is not running, or don't ride your bike for an extended time while leaving the harness connected. The workaround is to remove the fuse, which almost surely be housed in your glovebox/very close to the battery. All in all, it's a great, easy, and affordable addition to any bike. Highly recommended.

Cheap and functional. And actually waterproof.
A great cheap product that works well, I use a Samsung fast charger and it goes like gold. This was easy to hook up, just ran it under the body to the battery on my Kawasaki KLR 650, screwed it down, zip tied it in appropriate spots, and zip tied it to the bars. Now I can use Google Maps on my phone wherever I go, I use a phone mount to hold my Samsung S7 Edge in place and this to charge it. Comes with a cover for the USB, I've been through 2 driving rain showers, and my bike sat all day in the rain in the parking lot at work, and this sucker still works like a charm. You just clip the cover back on when you're not using it. It zip-ties to the bars very effectively, clever thing they thought up, it's clearly designed to be used with zip ties, which after all are a biker's best friend. Worth the money, certainly, a good cheap charging option. Enjoy!

Works with my Samsung
Installed this last night on my bike. Overall, there's lots to like. Inline fuse is just smart. 2-color wiring is good, especially if you'll be modding this for a custom wiring project. All of the covers fit nice and tight, and will hopefully keep out water and moisture. My only criticism would be the length of the battery lead. It was long enough to reach the front forks of my bike (routed along the inside of the frame and just above the lower triple) with enough slack for turns, but I might have preferred enough length to reach up near the top triple. My intent is to leave it disconnected when not in use, so as to not drain the battery, so I need the connector to be accessible. After starting my bike, and plugging in my Galaxy S7 (Android), it began charging with no 'slow charge' warnings.

Easy to install.
This item was so easy to install on my bike. I removed the seat and hooked it up to the battery...easy. I actually ran the wire under my leather tank cover strip to the front of the tank. Used a wire tie by the battery and by the front of the tank to secure it. Mounted the plug on the handle bar with the zip ties provided and it was up and running. Took me less than 10 minutes to install. I unplug the plug from the cable after each ride so it won't stay "live" to the battery, but with the 10 amp fuse that comes on it I'm sure the trickle charge would be minimum. I just do it just in case. Cool part is that it has the same connection as a battery tender so now charging the battery is just that much easier! Great little product!

Good Port
Used for a few months now, easy wiring to my battery, no on/off switch but takes no juice with nothing plugged in, USB-A, since it's small i can just have it tucked away. i have a 4-Port usb hub plugged into it since it's only 1 port. can also be unplugged from included SAE and can hook up a tender/trickle charger, you can also plug the usb part directly into your existing sae

Consigliato.

Well made. Easy to install. Cables appear to be good quality and of ample length Even comes with cable ties and spare 10a fuse. Survived deluge of rain with cap on. Not sure how waterproof it will be with USB in use, so positioning of the port is important. Since it has SAE connectors it can also be used as a feed for battery charging from my Optimate.
