Moving Gears Wall Clock

We looked at many clocks until we found this one. We really wanted one that had moving gears, and this clock is so mesmerizing, I could look at it for hours (no pun intended). The gears don't make much sound, but we took the advice of another review and reversed the motion simply by holding the center gear until it reversed and started going counterclockwise. The hands of the clocks do blend in somewhat but they are shinier than the rest of the clock so we can definitely tell what time it is. And because they blend in so beautifully with the clock, I wouldn't change a thing.

I love the look of this clock. The colors contrasts are great against my off white wall color. Love that the gears are functional (battery operated)! Nice value considering some more authentic clocks with gears are almost $200. Very pleased with this product.

Pros: Gears moving looks great and barely makes a sound. Love the look of it. Lightweight and easy to take down to change batteries. Separate batteries for clock function and gear functions. I haven't had it long so I can't speak to longevity. Cons: It is made out of very cheap materials for a $70 clock. The hands are such thin aluminum(?) that you could roll them up like a tube of toothpaste. One bent quite a lot while I was putting in batteries, even though I thought I was being careful. It also straightened back out easily, so no harm done and now I know better. Most of the clock is made out of plastic of some kind. That being said, I do appreciate the light weight. I'm certain it wouldn't survive even a minor mishap. I will be sure to handle it with care and hope kids or pets don't bring it to an early demise. It's just hanging up on the wall so it should be safe...

I think this clock was around $80 and I honestly think I would have returned it even if it wasn’t properly assembled. It’s not an $80 clock. I think somewhere in the range of 45-55 would be more appropriate. But that’s not even the biggest issue. My clock came with a screw that wasn’t even installed and when I tried to screw it in I found that there was not even a pre drilled hole. Also the minute hand was basically dropping for lack of better words. So when it spins it hits the gears. The clock looks beautiful but you can tell it’s on the cheaper side when you open the box. The gears are made of plastic and the outer part of the circle is wood. Which is perfectly fine but not for the price. However if the paint was done better it could be more believable that it’s made out of metal but I just didn’t get that when I looked at it. I’m very disappointed because I did think it was beautiful. This item I definitely should have read reviews. I figured it was a safe purchase because of what I was paying for it. Hopefully everyone has a better luck than I did.

Love this clock! It looks more expensive than the price. The gears move too which is an added bonus. Great accent for any space!

I love the style of this wall clock. Very different. It has an old-fashioned, yet, modern look due to the sleek style and color. Needs to AA batteries. The gears spin but the hands do not work.

We got this because of how unique it was that it had gears that actually move. It's a perfect piece for our living room, be prepared for a little noise Because of the moving gears it does make some "white noise", it's not bad though. Also be aware when purchasing this, because of the way it's packaged. The manufacturer packaging doesn't protect the item so well, there are small screws that attach the main unit to the backing. If there's a lot of heavy back to front shifting, the attachment screws will pull out. We had to return one and get a replacement because of this issue. The replacement came quick and was fine.

Très belle horloge

Ein echter Blickfang. Gute Uhr, die in der Küche ein echter Blickfang ist. Wenn man ganz leise ist, hört man die sich drehenden Zahnräder. Aber nicht übertrieben laut. Da nebenbei meist TV oder Radio läuft, stört es überhaupt nicht. Die Uhren-Zeiger-Mechanik und und Zahnrad-Mechanik werden jeweils durch separate Batterien mit Strom versorgt.
