I bought these first. Than bought the other product where the packages open up with cardboard veggies... So...what i can say about this product....these are good quality perfectly made...but I would buy for older children..4 to 6 yr. old. Who are just interested in playing kitchen or grocery store. Young children 1 to 3 yr. Old. Want to open up and explore and count the inside veggies. (So look to their other products for this)

Really cute assortment of items. Be aware though that none of them are wooden (as the description states), they're all cardboard.

Very light weight. Cute addition to add to my toddlers kitchen show loves them. Great for imagination.

We've gotten quite a few grocery and food play sets from Melissa and Doug, so when I stumbled on this one by accident I thought "we already have a ton of these" and really the only reason I gave it a second glance was because the cost was so low. I'm very glad I did though... not only are all the items here unique from what we already had, but they provided several new forms that my daughter has really enjoyed. The milk and orange juice cartons actually open (old-school style where you have to push and pull at the top edge, which my daughter still hasn't mastered but loves to watch me open). They are a bit easy to rip at the opening though, so some care is needed. And the deli meats and cheeses immediately became a favorite... we had ordered the Melissa and Doug toaster set previously, and now my daughter loves "making sandwiches" with that bread and her new deli kits. We also use the butter box here to hold 2 of the butter pats from the toaster set, which is a nice bonus. The boxes and "cans" (the yogurt and parmesan aren't cans of course, but explaining that just confused her more), didn't excite my daughter as much since she's seen them in the other sets, but it was easily worth getting this one just for the juice cartons and deli meats.

These products are well made and so realistic. My Granddaughter is going to get a lot of use out of this.

I wanted to add a (semi) realistic sized milk and juice carton to my 2-year old's play kitchen and this fit the bill. While they (and the cream cheese and butter) are all cardboard, they are coated and have very sturdy construction. The yogurt and parmesan containers are a lighter plastic but still sturdy, and the lids are easy for my 2 yo to manage. We haven't had them in the play kitchen for long but I can see that these will last quite some time!

I truly enjoy the craftsmanship and joy Melissa & Doug products bring to our family! I highly recommend this set for an older age group ..5 even 6 and up ... the set is AMAZING but only flaws are this set is mainly cardboard, the deli meats and cheese packaging is high quality but the tab you pull to open it can easily rip and damage within the first time of opening if your not careful! Even for an adult it’s difficult! I suggest taping it to secure and give a better grip! As well as the juice and milk box the tabs to open and close eventually will wear out! I’ll be sure to update in a few months! The realism and size are just perfect for fridge stuffers and very real to what we use today! Love the set and really enjoy the neat details in this product! Would definitely buy again if needed or as a gift

Most of the items are made of paper (orange carton, milk carton, cheese, butter, backing of the deli meats) and will not withstand the slightest abuse from a toddler. Not worth the price - you are better off recycling existing foodstuff you have.
