he Wish book is such a sweet and meaningful story. The message is heartwarming, and it keeps children engaged from beginning to end. The illustrations are beautiful, and the story opens up great conversations about hope, kindness, and believing in yourself. It’s a wonderful book for bedtime reading and one we enjoy coming back to.

She is 11 years old, and her family is broken. So, the girl sets off to live with her aunt and uncle in another town. She starts adjusting to her new life, which is not cloudless. Charlie has her list of things to wish on, and every time, she makes a wish from the bottom of her heart. She meets a wise boy who helps her a lot and brightens her days; she meets a stray dog that will play a significant role in her new life. Whether Charlie's wish comes true, whether her life gets back on track, and whether the little girl has a chance for a truly loving family. You can find out while reading this glorious book. The Writing Style: It was written adorably easily, and I read it almost in one sitting. I wish I could have read this book when I was eleven because it consists of many wise lessons and brilliant examples of behaving in this or that situation. The notions of friendship, love, care, motivation, and kindness are beautifully portrayed. This book is cleverly written. It's full of heartwarming and heart-squeezing moments that made me sob. This book is full of enchanting childhood spirit when you believe that every wish is about to come true, sooner or later. The Characters: I fell in love with most of them from the first lines and felt total disgust toward some of them. All the characters are described masterfully and magnificently in the slightest detail. I enjoyed the multilayers in describing their features and how deeply and profoundly the author depicted their souls. The characters felt alive, and I kept living with them after reading the book. The Fave Quote: "You can't judge people for the mistakes they make. You judge them for how they fix those mistakes." Would I read other books by this author: Sure! My humble rating is: 5/5

Great book. On point for the reading level.

WISH was such a lovely book and an easy read. I really enjoyed the simplicity of the plot and the character development of Charlie, the 11 year old protagonist. She makes a wish every day whenever she gets the chance, and you're left wondering what that wish is. Charlie comes from a hard complicated background where she's left to live with her big-hearted aunt and uncle. Although it seems like a picturesque setting, she misses her family and the city. Just like any child, the slow acceptance of her adapting more to her environment starts with a dog and of course, a new friend. The plot slowly reveals that her wish eventually does come true and after finishing the book, it'll leave the reader with a big smile and a whole heart.

Charlie Reese is scrappy, just like her daddy; she lets her feelings boil to the surface without stopping to think about what she will do or say, and that often gets her into trouble. When her father is placed in jail and her mother is struggling to remain on her own two feet, Charlie is sent to live with an aunt and uncle she has never met in a town that is markedly different from where she grew up. Every day, Charlie searches for opportunities to make a wish—the same one she has been making for years—with the persistent hope that it will come true. Despite her initial reluctance to accept her new surroundings, Charlie is slowly drawn out of her protective shell and finds that her wish may be granted in ways she did not expect. This middle grade coming of age story focuses on Charlie and her struggle to come to terms with her current reality. Desperately clinging to the potential life she could have had with her birth parents, she becomes a thread that is pulled so tightly that it threatens to snap with any added pressure. No matter how people behave toward her, Charlie finds reasons to lash out and hurt others as an expression of her own internal pain. It is fulfilling to observe Charlie's transformation as she begins to come into her own and realize that she is just as deserving of affection as anyone else. Succinct and well-designed, this story flows easily from beginning to end and is especially suited to younger middle grade readers. Whether or not readers have experienced Charlie's specific feelings, they will recognize and empathize with Charlie’s innate desire to be loved and accepted for who she is. Themes of finding family outside of a blood connection—from friends to animals and beyond—permeate the narrative and lead to a satisfying conclusion. Likewise, the repetitive mention of Charlie's wish without going into detail about what it is will keep readers engaged until the final page is turned. Heartwarming and poignant, this is an important story for middle grade readers. Because it investigates a character whose challenges initially define her, readers will observe first-hand how Charlie manages to overcome the obstacles in her way and settle into a life that is a best fit for her. Bought for a students wish

I have to do an independent reading book for school and this helps a lot. I'm getting way farthing in the book then I would if I did not use the audio. if you aren't good at reading you're book, I recommend this then

I read this book and I think that Barbra O'connor should wright a second book! It is a beautiful story about a wonderful friendship! Wish is a book about a young girl who is sent to live with her Aunt and Uncle. The girl meets a dog and soon it will be her best friend! In the book the girl has a hard life living without her mom all she wants is her mom! Her Aunt and Uncle are doing the best they can to help her but she doesn't understand. I think that this book is one of my favorite books! I have read a few of Barbra O'connor's books and they all take place in Georgia! The kids on the school bus are not very kind to her but she ignores them but she meets a boy who is very nice and he gets bullied because of the way he looks. So together the girl the boy and her Aunt and Uncle try to trap the dog and make it theirs! One day the dog runs away but then they find it again! The boy has four or five brothers and they ask her over for dinner.
