One of the boxes used in our system
We try to buy from the Ma and Pa places on here. Being disabled . We need to be price conscious. At "The Mother In Laws Place" It is an off-grid cabin, we run DC on a lot of things . We see no need to use the inverter 24/7. just so you can turn on a light when you come home . We use LED bulbs in ceiling mount fixtures that are marked 12-volt DC only. These are controlled by controller with a FOB remote. The controller is board mounted on our PV control center . We use a few of the controllers for different rooms to control each ceiling light . We also run the kitchen stove exhaust fan with DC . The fresh air intake system for combustion is DC . These are fused in our DC only fuse center . This fuse center is controlled by a service disconnect at the DC master box . We also run two AC fuse boxes on our PV board . One protects various AC 110 volt circuits in the cabin , garage and sauna . The other protects 220 volt circuits from the aux gen set and to the split ac/heat pump and the aux battery charger for when the PV and hopefully soon to be wind generated power are not enough to keep up. We run 8 - 6volt Rolls batteries tied by Buss bars . They are temperature and voltage monitored on the PV board and by the inverter unit. The power is inverted by a Renogy 3000 . It also has a multi stage charger built it with flow through capability . These are almost all protected by Breakers purchased here . We have a remote shallow well system that we use a soft start unit on . It lessens the instant draw on the system . It is all about power management. This is a semi detailed , general description of some of the off grid power systems we use . I am going to add this review to each one of the parts bought on here .

Adequate solar breaker box for indoor or covered use
Box was purchased because I need to run 100 Amp solar breaker (2 pole) from 48 V backup system to Inverter charger PLUS a 30 amp slimline 2 pole breaker that solar comes into the house on. The 100 Amp is much wider and necessitated the use of the 5 position box and not the 4. Box is decent but I would never consider it weatherproof. It holds breakers on a metal DIN chassis, cover and box are injected molded plastic and were fine for use. Gasket is present and fit was good but box can deform easily. Take your time and predrill your screw mounting holes and don't overtighten screws with a drill - YOU WILL CRACK THE BOX. Hand tighten screws ONLY! I used the round screw type rubber compression ferrules to run wires through. I actually epoxied them to the box using JB Weld epoxy for plastics (found here on Amazon). 4 screws hold on the front of box with the cover. Very small footprint and happy with the purchase. It is remaining inside beside the inverter and battery bank.

Solar Panel disconnect panel
This was a duplicate of a solar panel disconnect panel that I purchased almost a year ago. Panel was as described and worked fine in a motorhome. It is not recommended by me for use in a boat thought. And this is just my opinion.

Very flexible
Enough room for 5 mini breakers. The picture is of two 2-pole mini DC breakers with one plastic rip-out piece left intact on left and right. Ample ways to get in and out, though having a drill press helps to drill out the plastic. Its not like metal punch-outs where you only need to bash and wiggle. With this plastic you have to drill it out. It is a pretty tight squeeze inside but the flexibility makes wiring easy. Note that the unit only comes with the two smaller fittings, so if you need more be sure to get a pile.

Window Latch Weakness
Delivered on time and in good condition. Sturdy product for most part but the latch on the window is not built to last. If you plan to leave it closed for most of its lifespan you have nothing to worry about. If you need to access inside the window with any regularity you might want to look at other options. Me? I already have plans for a second one and it’s on its way

Muy bonita presentación y muy practica, tiene agujeros prerecortados para que no tengas tantos problemas a la hora de sacar cables por algunos de los lados.

We use ours in our kids bunkie. Took me a few to find the right breakers, but we did and we're happy. It's the cost effective, yet safe option for supplying power to our Bunkie. We use 2 of the 3 breaker slots. It all is working 100% but I anticipate the clear plastic cover's "latch" to break in a year. You have to flex a thin, brittle piece of plastic to release to clear cover and gain access to the breakers. I've been alive long enough to know that on a cold day, opening this will crack that. It's indoors and out of the elements, so we are not worried though. The cost was right, even given this one design flaw.
