My Favourite Tin. Beautiful sponge cakes every time!
Baking has been one of my hobbies for a while, and this tin has truly elevated my sponge bakes to another level. The quality is excellent, well-made and heats evenly. Grease it appropriately and the sponge will release perfectly with no sticking. The best part? The beautiful pattern it leaves on the cake! It’s also very easy to clean. I just wipe with a cloth and soapy water, and it’s ready to use again. Happy baking!

This Bundt pan makes a beautiful cake! The design comes out sharp and well-defined, but the pan MUST be prepared properly before putting batter in it, and then baked at the proper temperature (325 seems to be ideal) for the cake to turn out without sticking and being done all the way through. I’ve found that many recipes call for baking temperatures above 325, and they DO NOT WORK with these heavy cast aluminum pans. Anything higher than 325, and I’ve found the exterior bakes took quickly and gets overdone if the cake is baked long enough to get the inside baked. The size is smaller than the older 12-15 cup Bundt pans, but today’s cake mixes, as well as many recipes, make a smaller cake, so just be aware of this. The best prep I’ve found to ensure the cake doesn’t stick is Pam Baking spray (the one with flour in it) or Baker’s Joy. Be sure to apply it liberally and coat every bit of the inside of the pan before pouring in batter. Also, wait until just before you pour the batter to grease the pan. Don’t do it ahead of time as many recipes instruct. I’ve also found that letting the batter rest in the pan for 10-15 minutes before baking allows the batter to settle into the crevices of the pan, so the design is more defined after the cake bakes. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes after you remove it from the oven. If your pan is properly prepared with baking spray, the cake will naturally pull away from the sides of the pan as it cools. It will then slide out perfectly without you having to go around it with a knife while it’s in the pan. I haven’t had any problems with mine scratching, but I’m careful with them. I always hand-wash them with Dawn dishwashing detergent after they’re fully cooled, and they clean up easily. These pans are heavy duty, and should last forever, so even though they’re expensive, I believe they’re a good value. I do wish Nordic Ware would standardize the colors, and offer each style pan in more colors, so I could buy pans that match. They’re so beautiful that I’d love to display them, but with all the different colors, it’s not a good look for that. Small issue, not a deal-breaker as I’m buying these to make beautiful, delicious cakes, and they do that!

A beautiful Bundt pan! Heavy gauge material, design on cake is lovely, didn’t stick, I only used non stick spray, cake rose perfectly and evenly. A little on the expensive side, but worth it if you want to treat yourself to something nice. Shipping was next day, Prime.
