Love that these are water resistant. They did take some getting used to and I do think that the sound quality is a little different but overall I really like that I can workout in these and they aren't super sweaty and gross anymore! These are definitely a great alternative to the replacements on the official website because the price is so much more reasonable and again they are water resistant! I don't think they even look all that different front the original ear cups especially from a distance. The color is close to the original ones and I'm overall extremely happy with this purchase!

After getting the AirPods Max and being in love with the sound quality and the noise cancellation (not the biggest selling point for me personally), there was one glaring miss that Apple made with these otherwise amazing headphones. The earcups that came stock on the AirPods Max, while extremely well built and very easy to replace (great design by Apple), the feel was terrible for me. The stock earcups left me with irritation around my ears after wearing them for any length of time (longer than about 30 minutes). I feverishly began searching for replacements, and most importantly, leather (or simulated leather) is what I was looking for. Sadly - there were no options out on the market. It was then that I happened to come across these gems. After receiving them, I immediately noticed the overall build quality was equal to the stock earcups that came with the AirPods Max, the fit and design was almost impossible to tell apart. The feel of the material was soft, plush and feels very high quality. As you can see in the photos - they are almost impossible to tell apart from the stock earcups that came on the AirPods Max. There was one person that noted in another review that the noise cancellation is not quite up to par with the stock earcups, I did find this to be the case as well, however - it is NOT something that bothers me and not something that would warrant me lowering the rating on these. The overall quality, the feel around my ears all while still maintaining an accurate and pleasing sound profile (when listening to music) makes it easy for me to give these 5 stars. If you are looking for a replacement and don’t want the itchy feeling associated with the stock earcups - then definitely check these out!

The earpads have a soft, almost velvety texture without the fabric/woven feel of the Apple-original earpads. The cutouts are for sound passthrough appear to all be the same, but after a few days of use, it was evident that there was something different in how the ambient sound (and active noise cancellation (ANC) to a lesser degree) were negatively impacted. For the ambient sound mode, the headphones would occasionally emit a high pitch squeal at low volume, and if anything pressed up against the headphones, then this squeal would get much louder — similar to microphone-speaker feedback. I purchased these because an Apple AirPods Max repair sent my AirPods back to me without the earpads, and it took a couple weeks (!), several emails, texts, and phone calls to resolve the issue with Apple. While I was waiting, I purchased these to hold me over, but the squealing got to be so annoying that I shelled out $69 for a new set of original Apple earpads. I’ll keep these around to use while I’m letting my Apple earpads dry from a cleaning… it’ll just be for a day, which should be fine.

I had a brand-new pair of AirPod Maxs to compare the material to, and it really is 99% maybe 95% close. It's not exactly the same, but it's pretty close. They sound and feel like the originals when on the head. I had to replace mine because it got so filled with sweat and grime they were disgusting. I tried washing them, but it was impossible they still felt greasy. Apple wants $70 for the original, and these are a great facsimile.

As soon as I put these on my AirPods Max, the headphones would generate a high pitched whirring sound. I assume the cloth coating is interfering with the active noise canceling function.

They are decent for gym use, but the lower sound quality and noise reduction make them less ideal for other environments.

I am very happy with this purchase! The item arrived quickly, well-packaged, and in perfect condition. It performs just as described, and the quality is fantastic. I’ve used it several times, and it has met or even exceeded my expectations. Whether you’re looking for reliability, value for money, or ease of use, this product ticks all the boxes. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for something like this.

While the cushions are of a good build quality, they are not compatible with the AirPods Max sound distribution. When the Noise cancellation is on, the sound from (whatever music you're listening) comes harsh and produces a lot of echo. Another way to explain it is that the sounds are clashing with each other and disturb the output - the result being a distorted noise that lacks bass and is closer to an early 2000 Nintendo game music. The waiting time for delivery is also a disadvantage, as it's from overseas. I know that we're all looking for a cheaper alternative for the overpriced cushions from Apple's website, but these ones do not do the job, sadly.

These are honestly so much more comfortable to wear than the original cushions from Apple! I'm not noticing a difference in noise cancelling performance either, this is such a worthwhile upgrade! :)
