Slow Juicer Rocks!
This is my 3rd (well really 4th) juicer I have used. My first one was very loud and leaked. Just threw that one away. My next juicer (I still have) is also loud and leaks a bit when you juice a lot, but clogs up with the pulp that still seems to have juice in it. Now the 3rd juicer was bought for just wheat grass. Is very quiet, but then again it is also a hand crank cold press juicer for grasses. It works very well, but is slow. I was looking around for a new cold press juicer and knew that it would cost me a lot more, but I also know it would be better quality juice. I came across the Hurom Slow Juicer and watched the video and read up on it. Everything sounded great, but was not really liking the price on it. That and I wanted to see more details of the internal workings of the auger, basket and the pulp ejection area. Not being able to see those in details made me unsure. After about 2 days or reading and research I decided to go ahead and pay the price and take the chance, it would do what I wanted. It was a great decision. I have now had this juicer for 2 weeks and love it. Last weekend my sister came over to play with it and she ended up ordering one for herself as well. I made her watch the Fat, Sick and nearly Dead video on my Kindle Fire while we juiced and she was hooked. Here in about 6 hours we are heading to the local Farmers market to get some fresh organic fruits and vegetables to juice for the week and have planned to make this a weekly event for us. Now as for the Hurom Slow Juicer: This is very quiet compared to all of the high speed juicers I have used or ever seen. It is very easy to take apart, clean and put back together. (Note: hand wash and never put in the dishwasher) Only takes a minute or two to completely clean. The machine information say to only run for 30 minutes at a time. Get into the habit of just juice what you need or will use that day. Fresh is always better. The input shoot is not that big and being it is not shredding the food you need to cut everything into small pieces. So for closing let me add a little advise. Give this juicer a permanent place on your kitchen counter. Have an area that you can set this juicer up and leave it. (This way you are not bothered by dragging it out and then putting it away). Have a space that you can use for cutting up the fruits and vegetables in to small pieces. Use this item everyday and change up what you are juicing and enjoy the new flavors. Experiment with different items for flavors. Currently I have juiced, Orange, Apple, Pears, strawberry, blue berry, black berry, lemon, lime, tomato, carrot, celery, cranberry, ginger, kale, spinach, and wheat-grass. This juicer is great for all of them but I love the fact that it does such a great job on the wheat-grass, kale and spinach. I just tose in an apple at the end to push the last bit of greens through and adjust the taste. As always do your research before you buy anything and respect the items durability and instructions for use and cleaning.

Excellent All Around Juicer
I bought the Hurom Slow Juicer after much investigation into it and other juicers capable of juicing wheatgrass, along with fruits and veggies. It has turned out to be a fantastic juicer. I have had it for about 2 weeks now, and I use it every day, sometimes twice a day. I also have a Juice Man II centrifugal juicer and while the JMII is faster at accepting material, it doesn't do as good a job as the HSJ. The JMII doesn't do greens well, if at all. The HSJ does a fantastic job at juicing loose material such as sprouts, leafy greens, wheatgrass, etc... Also getting more juice out of the material than the centrifugal type. You will have to spend more time cutting your material (fruits, veggies, etc...) and I have found that stringing things like celery help to go a long way to keeping the process simple and issue free. Personally, I enjoy the time I spend cutting my veggies and fruits, kinda zen like. Clean up is as fast as any centrifugal juicer. Clean up takes me 5 minutes on the HSJ. One reviewer mentioned that the juicer was stained after use. This happens with all plastic parts. But, I have found that if you just can't live with stained plastic, you can make almond milk with your Hurom juicer and the action of the nut particles will clean it beautifully, or clean it with a little soft scrub and a sponge and wallah.. clean as new! Customer service is fantastic! My HSJ was delivered by UPS. There were no dents in the box but when I opened the box, 1 of the juice containers was broken. The only way I can think this happened is that it was broken prior to being shipped. Nevertheless, I sent an email to customer service, talked with a C/S agent and in 2 days I had a brand new juice container. Super fast and super friendly. So far I have made juice from: carrots kale wheatgrass apples pears sprouts of all kinds grapes oranges strawberries lettuce parsley pineapple celery beets mangos chard Almond milk soy milk, and much more I am VERY happy with it! If you are on the fence because of the cost. I can assure you that this will be the last juicer you need to by. 6-2-2011 Revisited Review: Okay, it's been 1 year since i bought my Hurom Slow Juicer. Verdict? I LOVE it. First, when it arrived, 1 of the juice catch containers arrived broken. I contacted the company and received a new container in 2 days. EXCELLENT customer service. I make juices almost every day and every day I still LOVE using my juicer. Easy to operate, easy to clean, and the ONLY juicer I still use daily. I've owned a Champion, and a couple others. The Hurom is by far my favorite. I see people complaining about broken inner parts. Well, all i can say is this juicer is NOT a garbage disposal. Take care of it, don't put in hard objects like citrus seeds, cut stringy veggies like celery into smaller pieces and it will work for a long time, worry free. To date, my favorite juice is: Julius Caesar 12 oranges 1 banana 1.5 cups raw almonds [skins on or off, doesn't matter] With 4 cups pure water. Juice the oranges without the peel. Use the Yellow basket for this. then put through the almonds along with 4 cups of pure water. Filter out pulp in you want. You can soak the almonds overnight if you want the enzymatic addition to your juice. Then juice them in the Hurom using the white basket. Put it all in a blender with the banana and blend. Makes a little more than 2 quarts. And just as good without the banana too. ENJOY!

The juices are nice, not too foamy, you get lots of juice from less product than centrifugal juicers and the discard waste does not gunk up your garbage with mushy pulp. The pulp is dry and great for baking or dehydrating. The problem is the discard shunt. It's too small and green leafies like kale, chard, or celery really block it up. You have to clean this out after every use to avoid clogs. Not ideal for people making several a day, or wanting green juices regularly. Otherwise it's a great little machine.
