Review: Value for money - Worked for long time
Review: Sceptical no more. - Worked perfectly for 3 days then died. Update 3-13-17: I returned this item for an exact replacement. The second pump has worked perfectly for over a month. I have it mounted just above a 20plate heat exchanger on my water heater so it pulls water through the exchanger. There is a natural thermal cycling that heats my domestic water via my outdoor wood stove but it was slow so it was still possible to run out of hot water if laundry and kid's bath and my shower were all done within a couple hours. Now we truly have endless hot water. This little pump works at about 2gpm and is very quiet.

**Q: I want to use this in beer brewing. Has anyone had issues with the hot wort using this pump?**
A: Not food safe, so don't use it for making beer.  The materials are nylon, ferrite and brass.  The pump shaft is an unknown material with what appears to be a ceramic coating that wears off fairly quickly exposing the base metal.  I'm on my 3rd one of these for a hot water recirculating loop and they seem to last about 12-14 months in this setting.  What has worn out the first two was the ferrite core at the base of the pump came lose from the shaft so it can't spin the impeller but instead just spin in the housing itself.  Hope this helps.  I am satisfied with them for the price and cheap operation

**Q: How many watts is this?**
A: It's not listed but  if you look at the power supplly you can calculate the wattage.   Voltage(12V) x Amperage(2A) = Watts(24W)

**Q: What size hose barb?**
A: I agree with former answer. Besides which it comes with the 2 necessary hose barbs. No rocket science required here.

**Q: How do you prime the pump?**
A: It is not a self-prime pump. There is no suction height of this pump. You need to put the pump in water or install the pump under water level when using.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works well, flows fast.

Using this to pump my kombucha through an 80 mesh filter before bottling. Pump does not self prime, that's where that last star went. I'm using silicone tubing and it collapses from the suction, recommend a more rigid tubing. Pump is loud when priming it and when it runs dry, but quiet once liquid is flowing. If mounting this in a camper I'd recommend rubber bushings or some other kind of isolated mounting.
