Aquarium Cooling Fan for Fish Tank, 2-Speed Aquarium Chiller Cooler, Adjustable Fish Tank Cooling Fan for Freshwater & Saltwater Aquariums, Low Noise Cool System (1-Fan)

I've only received this fan today and so far so good. I got the single fan and did a temp test on a 15 gallon tank. It dropped the temp by about 1 degree in about 10 minutes on the low setting. Given more time, I'm sure it will perform well to drop the temp of the water even more. I'm using it to keep my temps to around only 78° F and so far, I'm certain it will do just fine for my needs. The fan is not quiet by any means, but I will only really use it when I have to during the warmer days. While yes this bracket is for rimless tanks, I did install it on a framed Aqueon rimmed tank and it does fit over the thicker edge of the frame. The front part of the bracket rests on the lip of the rim where a glass top sits. It fits sung enough that I'm 100% confident it will not fall off on it's own. The tightening screw of course can't really be used as normal this way, however when installed, the threads sit over the top edge of the rim and I can see in the slim chance the fan does get bumped and tilted, the screw will act like a brace keeping the fan even more secure from that happening. All in all, I'm happy with the purchase. Time will tell how long the unit actually lasts for.

I bought the single fan version of this for a 10 gallon tank with two small goldfish. They do fine in temperatures up to about 75 degrees but get grumpy and agitated at anything warmer, so I've been running this on hot days this summer. It cools the tank down quickly on the lower setting even when it's 80+ degrees in the house and is so effective that I need to leave the heater in to stop the temperature from getting too low. The rim of my tank is a little too thick for the fan to clip onto (the plastic isn't particularly flexible so there's not a lot of wiggle room in the thickness they say this will work with), but it rests easily on the rim in a corner propping the hood open an inch or two. With this setup, I lose almost an inch of water to evaporation on a hot day. The fan has two speeds but the lower one is more than adequate to keep my tank cool. I wish that instead of the higher speed, there was an even lower one that I could run at night - my only real complaint is the noise level, which isn't outrageous for a fan this effective, but the tank is in my bedroom and this is WAY too loud to sleep through. Overall it's a great little fan for the price and I'd buy it again.

The first one I got was defective but it was switched out pretty quick so that was a plus. All in all it’s a great fan and it cools my 125 gallon aquarium pretty rapidly. I bought the 4 fan version and it’s definitely the right call. It’ll the fan is on a temperature controller so it kicks on at 79• and cools until 78. It takes about a half an hour or less to cool the tank so that’s very efficient. Their are two drawbacks but neither are that big. 1). The screw it cons with to adhere to the tank only works for rimless or small rim applications. I just used industrial strength Velcro from my local hardware store and it solved that problem. 2) The fan is a bit noisy when it kicks on. My tank is in my living room and when the fan kicks on it’s definitely audible. Not a terribly loud noise but enough to notice. Long story short use Velcro and deal with the noise and get a really cost effective way to cool your aquarium.

We just got our axolotl over the winter so keeping it at a safe temperature for him hadn't been a problem. Over the last week or so here in Oklahoma, temperatures soared into the 100's and our axolotl is kept upstairs, so when the temperature of the water in his tank started creeping into the 70's I started doing my research. I found this and after reading all of the helpful reviews, especially for axolotls I didn't hesitate to try it, considering the price of a tank cooler was not something I wanted to have to purchase, but certainly would have if this didn't work. He's a part of the family. I'm so glad I made this purchase. It is literally a life saver considering my research informed the that the ideal temperature for them is between 60°-64° and anything above 70° becomes problematic, even deadly. I received the tank yesterday after work, about 4:00 and the temperature on the tank was approaching 72° (first picture). I immediately took it out of the box, plugged it in, and like other reviews stated, it didn't fit over the top of the tank, but for now it's being held up by the glass lid I had over the tank (second picture), works fine, but I will try velcroing it, like another review stated they did so that my son (he's not a child, he's 16) doesn't accidently knock it into the water when feeding him. By 6:00, in the heat of the day and when the upstairs A/C is only able to cool the upstairs to 75° and with the fans on high, the tank had already cooled down to 68° (3rd picture)!! 4° in just two hours! I was very happy and so was he. He went right up to the fans and stayed there for a bit, almost like a human cooling themselves in a fan. I think he liked the current it gave off, but it was cute. The fans on high are a little loud, I mean, it sounds about like a little desk fan you would have on high. I checked again on his temperature when I woke up this morning and it had cooled his tank below 66°! That's as low as my thermometer reads so if it's lower than 66° or higher than 84° the thermometer strip is just solid black, so given that it was below 66° I felt like it would be okay to turn the fans to low. After coming home from work today, again in the heat of the day, with the fans on low he's setting at a cool 66° (4th picture). Couldn't be happier with my purchase!

I originally bought this because the reviews seemed good and I just needed to cool my tank down by about 3°. I got the fan in Tuesday evening and immediately regretted buying it. First. The package itself was beat up but also it had clearly been opened and used. When I pulled the fan out it was incredibly dirty, not just dusty but It had looked like it had sat on the back of someone else's aquarium for a very long time and built up gunk. I decided to still see if it worked and when I went to plug it in the side that the AC adapter plugs into literally fell off. I could see that it had been broken before and was just sort of pushed back on. I did plug it in and turned it on and only two of the three fans worked. The third fan made an extremely terrifying rattling noise. The packaging inside of the box itself was also damaged and everything had looked like it had been clearly opened and used before. The product itself looks old, even if it was just old technology, it still looked like it had wear and tear. I would absolutely not recommend this to anyone. I went back and looked through some of the bad reviews and noticed that other people have received broken, dirty, and used fans as well. Probably this same one. Not really worth the gamble.

I bought this fan one year ago for my 20 gallon long axolotl tank. It was noisy but did the job. Well, until today at least... I noticed that where the cord connected to the fan was loose. I unplugged it and realized that the adapter had somehow pushed in. Now the fan is broken and useless. To sum it up, It's cheaper than a chiller, quite a bit noisy and does the job intended but breaks at the adapter.

The cooling fans are doing exactly what they are supposed to do: lower the temp of my tank by a couple of degrees as needed. I purchased a couple of dual fans and installed them on a Red Sea Reefer 250 (either side of the return skimmer). My apex fusion turns them on and of as needed. I originally had a 6" fan in the sump, this is so much better and efficient. On another note; the fans are noisy on the highest speed, I keep them on the lowest speed and they do the job without too much noise. To the ones that complain about the noise: Do you have any ideas of how much noise a chiller makes when it turns on and run? Probably not! If you did the noise would be a non-issue.

I live in Florida and my wife makes me keep my aquarium outdoors smh, during the summer months temperatures get into the 90s and this little fan machine helps cool it down by about 8 degrees F which is the difference between life and death for my fish. I also use natural spring water to make big ice cubes I drop in occasionally to help in the cooling. I was skeptical at first but this fan was a game changer. The only issue I have had is with mounting the fan, my tank rim was about an 1/8 inch thicker than the fan mount so getting it on was tricky and required me to have to stretch the plastic mount with a wrench without breaking it but it can be done. I wish there was a way to adjust it to fit any tank rim, so be sure you check and measure before purchase. If your tank rim is slightly smaller you can adjust it to fit but not if larger. Other than that the fan is pretty quiet and effective.

Agréablement surpris de la puissance de ces petits ventilateurs. Je dois garder mon eau froide pour mes axolotls et je ne possède pas de sous-sol alors très difficile de garder l'eau froide. Je possède une aquarium 35 gallons et les ventilateurs en position minimum abaisse la température de l'eau de 3 degrés!! J'imagine qu'au maximum j'atteindrais les 4 degrés. Légèrement bruyant (surtout au maximum) mais un mal nécessaire pour ceux dans une situation comme la mienne cela en vaut tellement la peine. Reste à voir la durabilité mais très satisfait jusqu'à maintenant.

Little noise & chinese product, not from usa.

I am using this to cool down my axolotl's 55-gallon long tank. I got the 3-fan version. It's kept my tank at a steady 60-62 Fahrenheit depending on the weather outside (If I keep my window open; its been 10-20 degrees celcius around here). It's loud on the highest setting but not bad on the lowest setting, and given that I have filters and other stuff that already make a little bit of noise, its barely noticeable. It also causes my tank to loose about an inch of water weekly due to increased evaporation. Way better value than a chiller. Gave it 4 starts instead of 5 because it WILL NOT FIT ON A RIMMED TANK. I just proped it up against the edge of my tank and on my tank light, so its suspended above the water. I even dropped it in once and it works just fine. Its a but chunky too but it works so well that i'm ok with that. Overall i'm really happy! Excited to see if it'll keep temperatures down in the summer without me having to blast the AC.

Works? Maybe ! I’m not sure tbh . I got the three fan design, and whilst it sits on the lip of my tank, it’s not secure at all. The securing screws don’t work because the gap of the fan isn’t large enough for a tank that has a plastic rim. Also doesn’t work well if you have a lid/ light on top. I have to move my lid off a few inches for the fan to rest on … im not sure if I will use it a long time. But it’s okay for now. I didn’t see a change in temp at all using it, but since I have an axolotl — I try everything to keep it cool in the tank

I have a 10G freshwater tank which is always subject to overheating due to small volume and lighting. I bought the 2-fan option: has two speeds, first speed is less noisy and i think it will be enough for my setup if I leave it on during warm hours. Noise is not so bad in this option, like a laptop fan. Second speed is kind of like a turbo mode, it is quite powerful but also noisier, suitable for quickly lowering the temperature by a degree or two but I wouldn't leave it on that way because of the noise.
