Does the job
These are really best with a machine to apply pressure, for example a mechanical arbor press. You can use a hammer, but there are a couple caveats - first, if you don't strike it evenly, you won't get an even cut; second, even using a wood block, the top edge of the dies will eventually cut into the wood. On my arbor press, these easily go through leather and thick rubber. The cutting edge is not extremely sharp, so don't expect it to cut paper. Don't expect it to cut leather with just hand pressure either - that's now how cutting dies work. The steel is decent quality and holds a good edge when re-sharpened. One complaint is that the rings are simply spot welded, and the seam is not fully welded. This may lead to future breakage at the seam. Other than that, for the price, they are decent for low volume work.

Excellent
Perfect. This purchase completely met my expectations. I looked for weeks for a specific size gasket and I couldn't find it anywhere. I bought these round hole punches and a piece of solid rubber 1/8'' thick and now I got my gaskets. They are very sharp, they are built to last and they cut thru rubber very easily. The various sizes let you cut custom size gaskets. Great value for the money, and I highly recommend it.

Work well for cutting out gaskets
I used these to make some automotive gaskets. Place the gasket being cut on top some scrap gasket material to save the cutting edge. Place on a solid surface and tap on it with a hammer. Cut through the material like cutting through refrigerated butter.

Good product but not right for what I was doing
The rings were good, but I was making holes in cardboard and it was tearing. I was making holes in cardboard to cover in velvet to display coins. The rings are good and sturdy though. Not right for my project.

Good for EVA foam too
Needed to cut some circles out of foam and debated on the FoamWerks circle drill thing but for $20 you can only cut 3 sizes and other FoamWerks circle tool is better for larger circles, but then I remembered circle punchs! Like other reviewers said the weld job on these are pretty rough but itโs not really something Iโm knowledgeable about. I used a wooden coaster on top of the punch to help apply body pressure on it and with a little wobbling back and forth it cut through both 4mm and 6mm nicely. Of course it took a little more work to get through the 6mm but it did exactly what I needed it to do
